Shadows of a Broken Heart

Author's note: This is my tribute to the Titans ending.

Disclaimer: I do not own any copy rights of the Teen Titans. This is just a story I made up and wished it never came true

The lights were off in his room. The door was shut and locked to hide any emotions that could escape from his throat. He never thought that he could spill tears from the closed ducts in his eyes. He was so use to pain. His family was dead; his mentor was so far away, so why couldn't he shake this awful new pain. For all the pain he took to save others, he might as well be another Jesus.

The girl that he considered his best friend was gone. With no warning, with no sign of departure, not even a hint, she was just gone. He had a strong relationship with her. You could say that they could sense each other when one of them was in danger. They had each others' back. They performed as one, felt pain as one, and loved as one. So why would the extraordinary, green-eyed, wonder leave her friend alone and broken.

Robin was mad and extremely sad at the same time. Painful memories lingered in his mind. That first fight, that first dance, the first time she said he was her best friend, and that first kiss. He knew he had a hard time expressing his emotions. He felt so awkward and nervous. He could fight mysterious beasts from other worlds, but why was this damn hard?

Over and over again he rehearsed if the opportunity came to say how Star rocked his whole world; how she drove him wild with that beautiful red hair of hers, or how he replayed the first time her lips met his in the process to learn his language over and over again. Now when he thought about it, he could feel his heart penetrate with hate, love, and absolute rage.

Why would she do that? What the fuck did I do wrong? Why won't you come back? Why did it have to end like that?

With that he remembered his evil determination to catch the crook. He would put that in front of her. There will always be evil and criminals, but only one Starfire. Then even the most painful of memories emerge: when he hurt her twice. Once, he hurt her when he was squeezing the shit out her arm for not stopping an invisible Slade, and another when Slade put those robots to attack her blood cells if Robin didn't do exactly what Slade wanted him to do.

Why did I do that? You're such a dumb fuck! This is all you're god damn fault!

Robin ran his fingers through his jet black hair. He tried to mimic the way Star would do it, so tenderly and gently. When she would do that, he would get goose bumps and try to prevent himself from getting a boner. Some how, one never popped out.

So many fantasies and no action or even an attempt to make any move at all to show how he felt. So is this how it ends? An endless cliff hanger never meant to be answered. So many question, so many possibilities, but still, there was only one Star. Robin will always have a special place in his shattered heart for her. Like a faithful dog, he will wait for his beloved Star. Who's to say Robin will ever be reunited with his secret lover, but all Robin knows is that ever night, at the top of the tower, he will look at the black sea of stars and know that some were in the universe, she will be looking right back at him.

A/N: Please rate. It's really sad to see the Titans to be cancelled. There are some real dumb asses at Cartoon Network.
