This takes place right after Lance leaves the Institute, so uh yeah…Also if you're reading this PLEASE REVIEW.

Lance drove his jeep with one hand and the other he used to feel his cheek where Kitty had kissed him. Kitty. She was the reason he was driving home at 2:00 AM. Lance knew he didn't have what it took to be an X-Man. That was why he was leaving. The only reason he went to the Institute was to be near Kitty and possibly win her over by impressing her. By showing her that he could handle responsibility he thought he might get closer to her than just hour long conversations at two in the morning. He grinned remembering how ticked Pietro was at the jacked up phone bills they still had to pay off. The grin quickly faded as he realized what he would be going back to. The Brotherhood would of course be reasonably bitter with him for bailing on them. Of course that was most of the guy's life stories, it was Lance's anyway. People were always coming and going in life. Some you remembered and some you didn't. At least that was the way he looked at it. He hoped that Kitty wouldn't be like that. He pulled up into the driveway and the lights inside the Brotherhood boarding house were still on. Lance groaned debating whether or not to go inside. If he went inside at least one of them was going to bug him about where he had been. He hoped it wouldn't be Tabitha or Pietro still watching TV. Lance took a gamble and pulled his duffel bag out of the backseat and after fishing his house key out of his back pocket, and opened the front door as quietly as he could. Greeted with silence he shut the door behind him. As Lance started up the stairs he caught a glimpse of Fredd getting a "snack" in the kitchen. Lance made it to his room, and after tossing his duffel bag he took of his shoes and flopped down on his bed, still fully clothed. He sighed and relief flooded through him and he started to drift off to sleep, dreaming of Kitty.
