There You Go
I was angry, I was scared
I didn't know what to do,
So I smashed his face
Such a disgrace
But I couldn't let him hurt you.
I saw you coming toward me,
Crawling slowly along the ground,
We were both in pain,
Playing a game
With no salvation to be found.
You touched me, you spoke to me,
You said you had to go,
But I was scared
And unprepared
To stay in hell alone.
"Don't leave me," I screamed,
But my cries were all in vain.
I beg, I plead
I cry, I bleed –
I fear I'll go insane.
But there you go, slowly moving away,
Every second is another inch.
My hopes, they sink
I can't help but think
It didn't have to come to this.
All I can do is sit and wait.
What will happen, I don't know –
Fear is never outgrown,
I am forever alone
With the memory of watching you go.
