(Forman living room – Jackie, Fez, and Anne)
"Fez, stop staring at me!" Jackie yelled out as she stood holding a throw pillow in front of her chest to protect herself from his eyes.
"You should be flattered," Fez mumbled.
"Yea well I'm not. I'm creeped out."
"What is going on in here?" Hyde peeked into the living room from the kitchen. He saw Jackie standing far from Fez holding on to a pillow for dear life, and Anne was sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table writing something down.
"He keeps staring at me." Jackie tried to recruit Hyde, "Make him stop." She pouted.
Hyde laughed,
"Fez man, you want some candy?" Fez's eyes widened and finally looked at something other than Jackie,
"Candy!" He rushed out of the living room and into the kitchen with Hyde. Both boys dissappeared behind the door. Jackie released the pillow and sat on the couch near Anne.
"He keeps getting worse," Jackie said, "I know I'm gorgeous, but come on, have some restraint." Anne stopped writing long enough to look up at her,
"Huh? Did you say something?"
(Forman kitchen- Hyde, Fez, Eric)
Fez sat at the counter eating the faces off some gummy bears, while Hyde and Eric sat at the table talking.
"Donna is angry with me." Eric said to a listening Hyde. Hyde nodded for him to explain, "The other night when I walked with her home, she said it was nice that I was finally accepting the responsibility of being a boyfriend."
"What does that mean?" Hyde asked.
"I didn't really know so I talked to her about it, She kept saying that I never do anything for her anymore, and that walking her home shouldn't be an extra nice thing, it should just be the norm." Hyde contemplated this and Fez walked over.
"The ladies always want more and more."
"That's right," Hyde seemed to click with this statement, "You're screwed, you set the bar to high for yourself. You do one super nice thing for them and then they make that the standard. So what I do is just stay an underachiever"
"You will never be able to keep a girl that way." Jackie had walked in a second ago and no one had noticed till now. Hyde looked at her skeptically. Eric turned to her, he thought maybe another girl and one of Donna's closest friends would know what to do, "If you want to keep a girl in your life, you've got to be compassionate. And there is never a time that a girl is satisfied with just doing the same thing every night."
"But I'm a little tight for money right now, and I think I'm coming down with something" Eric answered as he tried to take his own temperature with the back of his hand.
Jackie sighed in aggravation, "You don't have to spend millions on a girl to make her feel special. Just go out of your way to do something nice, like take her out on a walk or make her a card or something."
"Don't do it man." Hyde was giving Eric opposite advice. Jackie frowned at him,
"Are you going to listen to Mr. Hyde who hasn't been able to keep a girlfriend for more than a week, or me, a beautiful girl who understands Donna's feelings?"
"Burn!" Fez yelled. Eric stood up and patted Hyde's shoulder,
"I'm sorry buddy, but I have to go with Jackie this time."
"Whatever." Hyde replied not looking at him. Eric then smiled and walked out of the kitchen and up to his room. Fez resumed eating his gummy bears at the counter and Jackie sat next to him and picked up two of the clear ones.
"I love pinapple." She said to Fez who looked at her like she was stealing gold. She popped one in her mouth and sucked on it before chewing it.
"They are coconut not pinapple."
Jackie turned around to Hyde and stuck out her toungue.
"Well this coconut sure tastes like pinapple!" She argued. Hyde stood up from his chair and stood on the opposite side of the counter and took the other gummy bear Jackie had stolen from Fez, "Hey!"
Hyde smirked at her, "Coconut!"
"Pinapple!"
Fez listened to them bicker for a little while then he heard Jackie say that they needed to eat more of the white ones to be sure. He looked at them and both Hyde and Jackie were moving closer to pry the gummy bear bag out of his fingers.
"Eeep!" Fez got scared and dropped the bag on the counter before running outside.
"Score." Jackie said and grinned, "I'm so glad he is gone."
"Fez isn't that bad."
"You try watching tv when a foreigner is peeling off your clothes with his eyes!" Hyde laughed hard, which distracted her because she had never made him laugh so hard before. Usually he only laughed at her not with her. But the distraction is what he wanted because he snatched the bag up off the counter and ran into the living room with it. When Jackie realized what he had done she yelled and ran after him.
He was sitting on the couch holding the bag close to his stomach.
"You want these?" he held them up to her but didn't look at her. Jackie knew she wouldn't get the bag back with force so she calmly sat down on the couch putting a seat between her and Hyde.
"No. Not particularly."
"Liar."
Jackie made an angry noise and crossed her arms in front of her chest. Anne was still sitting there writing something.
"Anne, what are you doing?" Jackie tried to pretend that she had completely forgot about the gummy bears, planing on a secret attack, just the way Hyde had distracted her.
"Nothing." Anne said softly into the table.
"No really, I'm interested." Jackie said pepped up.
"Uh. Well I'm working on a new song."
"Wow. That's great!"
"I'm not that happy with it. But hopefully I can finish it to perfection before that contest."
"Contest?" Hyde had no idea what they were talking about.
"Oh we went to the Hub for lunch, and they had posters up about a talent contest. Winner gets $1000." Jackie replied giggling. She had to remember to be completely focused on Anne instead of the gummy bears.
"So you entered?" Hyde asked Anne and he leaned forward to see her face. Anne looked at him and nodded.
"I need to find a drummer still, but I'm going to play the piano and sing…" She blushed. As Anne continued to talk about the contest and what she needed to do in order to prepare, Jackie was trying to make her move, "I have most of the lyrics done, I'm just making them a little less literal." Once the word literal was out of Anne's mouth, Jackie whipped her hand out and grabbed on to the plastic of the bag. She thought she won! But Hyde regained his grip on the bag also, so Jackie tried pulling hard and scrunched up her face trying to call on all her strength, the bag was slipping from his hands a little.
The two didn't realize it but Anne stood up and was grinning at them,
"Bye you love birds." She waved and left through the front door.
