Walking out of the courthouse, the only woman he had ever really thought about looked around confidently. Eri Kisaki, the beautiful queen of the court, was heading towards a meeting with their daughter.

While Kogoro was not brilliant, he was smart enough to know that. The detective was also aware that Ran was nervously waiting at a nearby formal restaurant to tell her mother the news he himself had heard just an hour before. He leaned against the wall for a second, digesting the information again, unsure if it was a dream.

After a long time, he headed home, where he waited hours for Ran to come back. He didn't bother eating, as he couldn't cook and probably couldn't eat after THAT news.

The door finally opened, and he didn't turn to look at who entered. "Are you moving in tomorrow?" He asked, expecting to hear Ran answer.

"If you'll let me." Came the answer, but it was not from Ran. Kogoro turned to see Eri, looking at him, glasses off and neatly folded in their case, which was visibly in her purse.

"Eri?" He asked, ignoring her response. "Ran told you, didn't she?"

"Yes..." Eri said, sitting down next to him at his kitchen table. "Are you upset?"

"How can I answer that?" Kogoro asked, looking out the window. "My daugher is marrying the detective who puts me out of business...but on the other hand, he'll take care of her...and she could've chosen worse men. I...just don't think I can stand to be alone. Since the kid went back to America..." He said quietly, looking at Eri again.

"Being sensitive, eh? That's how you got me to marry you, by pretending to be sensitive, you know." Eri said, and Kogoro's look of sadness and innocence dropped.

"Damn it, Eri! I don't want her to go!" He whined, and Eri smiled.

'That's more like the Kogoro I know.' She thought, and then sighed. "Kogoro, if you really don't want to be stuck alone in this apartment, then I suppose-" She looked at him unsurely. "I could move in."

Kogoro's jaw dropped. "You're offering to...get back together?"

"I think..." Eri said, looking at the stars Kogoro had been looking at just a minute ago. "...that I am."

Then, with the sure expression she usually wore, she turned to her husband. "I am offering to get back together." She said finally, and he took a deep breath.

"What do you think Ran's going to do when she hears?" He asked, and then laughed. "She'll probably die...or freak out and start going crazy while driving Kudo nuts."

"No," Eri shook her head, "I think what she's going to do to him is..." and she leaned in to kiss her husband.

Just a short, post-BO thought of Eri and Kogoro moving back in together...not very good, but it's mostly just creative that needs to get out. :) Be sure to read Just Kidding! Hey, advertising can never hurt, right? ;D
