Heart in the Sand
The sun slowly set behind the soft blue ocean as the warm salt air continued to whip around the couple, who where walking hand-in-hand along the edge of the water. The young women appeared to be around twenty-five with thick curls pulled back into a low pony tail. Her new husband, by the glint of the new gold band and non-stopping smile, seemed to be a little older than her with dark brown hair and a nose which had been broken several times over again. The waves brushed against their bare feet as she wore a knee-length white sun dress and carried her sandals in her free hand. His free hand also carried his larger sandals but his khaki pants were rolled up to just below his knees to expose his fit lower legs.
Their bright smiles and the way they kept casting glances at each other showed to any one they passed how much they were in love, young love. Every once in a while the new bride would splash forward a little deeper into the warm water but he rarely followed her. But one time a playful smile breeched her lips and she cupped her hands to splash some water at her husband. He threw their sandals to the dry sand forgotten as he ran to catch his laughing wife. Once he caught her, he picked her up easily and kissed her nose before suddenly dropping her body into the water.
The playful water fight carried on for a while before he pulled her against his wet body and into a passionate a kiss. Her eye lids were heavy when she pulled back and then she whispered something into his ear but walked away with a tempting sway of her hips. His dark eyes lit up as he started to chase her and, yet again, caught her when she bent over to pick up their shoes. He roughly pulled her hips back against his own, which caused her to moan. It was her chance to turn around and pull him into a burning kiss.
When they pulled away, they walked again hand-in-hand up a sandy hill towards their rented cabin for their honeymoon. Just before they left the sandy beach, he saw a stick and leaned down to draw a heart and put their initials in the fine brown sand. Her smile broadened even more when he waved his wand over it and caused it to firm up to never wash away. He tossed the tool to the ground as he picked her up and carried her into the small house then used his foot to close the door behind him.
The young couple left only their foot tracks and the heart behind them. The heart that would remain there forever, which read: VK+HK.
The End
