After 3 hours of hard work they finally had finished the presentation. All of them sat back in their chairs in relief. It was time for lunch and the queue for the cafeteria, which had been long all morning had doubled. Chase got up and left the table where he left Cameron and Foreman discussing which background to give the presentation. Foreman wanted a bright orange one, but Cameron wanted the proper Princeton Plainsborough Teaching Hospital one.
After 10 when the queue hadn't gotten any shorter, Chase decided to leave and pulled a map of the hospital out of his pocket. There was another cafeteria on level 4 he could see in the other end of the hospital. He set off, giving Cameron and Forman a brief wave as he walked past.
The hospital corridors were no where near as busy as they had been that morning. The only people were the odd doctor and families of patients. He walked in the lift and in there was the blonde intensivist from the tour was in there.
"Hi," Chase said smiling and putting a piece of loose hair back behind her ear.
"Hi," she said back, looking kind of awkward.
"I'm Chase, I work at.."
"Princeton Plainsborough Teaching Hospital right?" she said with a very British accent.
"Yeah, that's me,"
"You were in the tour the other day, right?"
"Yep,"
"I'm Dr. Jones, I'm also an Intensevist," the lift stopped, the doors opened and our favourite doctor with a cane walked in.
"Hello there Dr. Chase, have you been collecting again?" House said to Chase, who looked back with a puzzled-annoyed face.
"I am Chase's owner, Greg House," House said standing between Dr. Jones and Chase, "aren't you going to introduce me like a good little boy, Chase?" Chase glared at House.
"I'm Dr. Jones," she said, introducing herself. The lift stopped again and she walked out, as fast as she could, obviously trying to get away from House. Chase gave House a glare and walked out after her.
"You will thank me one day," House yelled as the doors of the lift closed.
"Sorry about that, he is my boss," Chase said, finally catching up to her.
"That's ok, he seems to be a very friendly fellow," she said in a sarcastic voice, slowing down from her brisk walk as they turned the corner away from view of the lifts.
"Look, are you free tonight? Do you want to go out for a drink?" Chase asked.
"Ok," she agreed.
"Meet you outside the hotel doors at 8"
-------------------------
Cameron was getting ready for her date in her hotel room and heard a knock of wood against wood at the door. She walked to the door and opened it, to see House and Wilson standing there.
"Hi," she said surprised that they wanted to see her.
"What are you preparing for?" Wilson asked, looking her up and down.
"A date,". Both of the boys' eyes widened at this news. House turned around and walked away, Wilson quickly going after him.
----------------------------
Dr. Newberry looked very handsome, Cameron for some reason had been feeling nervous, but when she saw him she felt relieved, even though he was still wearing his lab coat.
"Hello, someone looks very nice tonight," he commented, pulling out a chair for Cameron at a table near a window.
House watched the two of them speak from behind a pole. They chatted away most contently, exchanging smiles every now and then and Cameron would laugh every now and then.
"What are you doing?" came a voice from behind. House looked around. It was Wilson.
"Observing, isn't the human race compelling?" House said looking at Wilson.
"You know, most of civilization would call that spying," Wilson said to House smirking, "You like her don't you?" Wilson continued, now grinning. House looked back at Wilson, then at Cameron and wondered away. Wilson watched House hobble away and then took a step forward to look at Cameron himself. He glanced at Dr. Newberry, thinking nothing of him at first. Then he looked back. Wasn't that the man that went out with Cuddy and tried to destroy her image back in Princeton?
Thanks for the reviews, please keep them coming, they give me ideas! Don't know how much more to come, but I don't want to make it drag on too much!
