Chapter 12. Lonely Feelings
Nothing to do...
It's sooo boring here...
Zidane looked out the glassy window gloomily from inside his guest room. It was raining in Alexandria and he had never felt so gloomy and depressed in his life. Gazing out at the pouring rain made him peaceful though.
Why do I feel this way?
I, I, I…
I can't say it….
She doesn't deserve me after what I did to her……….I told her I didn't love her, even though now…
I do.
Suddenly, he remembered something.
Flashback
"Oh Zidane! I missed you so much! Come on! Let's go up to the castle and talk!" exclaimed Dagger ecstatically, dragging Zidane up the castle stairs to her quarters, Zidane laughing as she pushed him into her room.
"Wow Dagger. You're really beautiful." He commented as he stood in the middle of the room, finally getting to see Dagger properly, she was blushing wildly.
"And you've also become rough for a queen!"
She playfully pushed him and laughed.
"I'm so happy you're back Zidane! I missed you so much! Don't you ever run off like that and never come back for ages ever again!" She scolded happily, running up to him and hugging him warmly.
She leaned forward towards Zidane's lips, closing her eyes. She had been waiting for this moment for all this time, waiting for her dreams to come true…..
"Dagger, what are you doing?" Zidane asked and let go of her.
She opened her eyes and gasped. She moved away slowly and blushed 50 shades of red at the same time.
"Why did you try to kiss me?" He asked her, coming closer.
"Zidane; I love you." She said out loud, hurt piercing her eyes.
"What?" He shouted shocked and moved away.
"What's so shocking! I've loved you ever since I met you." She confessed, coming closer to him warmly.
"How come-you never told me this?" He yelled irritated, slumping into an armchair at the side of the room.
Dagger's eyes watered unbearably.
Does this mean…
He doesn't….
Love me?
"Z-Zidane, do you love me?" She stuttered, starting to sob loudly and disturbingly on the ground. She looked up at him, her eyes piercing regret into his own eyes as he stared at her.
Zidane looked down at her and frowned sadly.
"I'm, sorry Dagger but I don't love you. I've gotta go now." He replied her and left the room; leaving the queen in all her worse states crying her broken heart out onto the carpet.
End of Flashback
Zidane sighed. He ran his fingers through his golden hair and his own eyes watered. What could he do?
I deserve this pain…
For after what I did to Dagger….
I lied…
I did love her…
Well, I've always loved her ever since I met her….
But I was afraid she might want to marry me, and then I'd by KING of Alexandria, and what if she found out that I was having an affair with Cassie?
Her chocolate brown eyes, her lovely dark brown hair, her delicate touch….
She's like a rose, but without thorns…
She never has thorns…She's the kindest Queen ever…And the most beautiful Queen too.
Tears drops ran down his cheeks wildly. He'd couldn't help it anymore. He loved her. And that was something he couldn't deny.
But, she was now out of his reach, forever. Sir Robert Fields was her man.
Zidane hated him. The perfect, Prince Charming type of guy would be perfect for the Queen of Alexandria. But all he really wanted was to be that Prince Charming for Dagger, maybe that was what she really wanted...
