Norman Osbourne peered into a microscope in the Oscorp Industries laboratory. The lab was a dark place, most of the light provided by various computer monitors, and flashing signal lights of the sort. The walls were lined with expensive high-tech equipment. Various scientist bustled about, checking machines, conducting experiments, and compiling data. But to Norman Osbourne, all this was happening on another world. He was only concerened with what was happening before his eyes.

Through the microscope lens, Osbourne was witnessing a miracle. For months him and the other scientists had been attempting to re-create the Captain America super-soldier syrum; to no avail. But now... now they had finally made progress. Though it was only a small step, it was a nessecary one. On the microscope slide, spider blood was mutating; fusing with the formula. That meant that the test spider had evolved. In theory, the small arachnid would be faster, stronger, and smarter than your average spider. Norman moved from the microscope, to see the test subject. His heart raced with excitment, all the months of toil and work were finally going somewhere...

"Mr. Osbourne?" a voice behind him said. Norman spun around to see his secretary, a young girl with blonde hair, standing in the labratories door, a clip board in her hand. "Your son's science class is here for the tour..." she said. "They've been waiting for you quite some time." Norman sighed, the spider could wait, it wasn't going anywhere.
