It was a cold night outside, with a spring rain just having blessed the land. Severus and Lucius could feel none of it, lying on the stone floor of the Great Hall.
Lucius sat up, took another swig of his drink and lay back down, sighing. The sky was exceptionally beautiful tonight, even for a night with a full moon. Tattered rain clouds were being swept overhead by a heavy wind, creating the illusion that they were swimming in a sea of moonlight and stars.
The wind rattled the many windows of the hall with an exceptionally powerful burst. Lucius slid an arm around Severus, pulling him closer. Momentarily, Lucius was bathed in moonlight and Severus in shadow.
By his feet, he heard something move; something furry. He heard a meow and, from the look on his face, Malfoy heard it too.
"We're so busted," he sighed, squeezing Severus's shoulder.
