Chapter One: The OneSquirrel
"They always come back", she silently whispered to her terrified Night Elf friend. They were trapped in a house in the middle of town, the wardens in Nighthaven not suspecting anything other than that the innkeeper got ripped off again. They weren't safe, a shadowy figure followed them everywhere. The two Night Elven girls sat down, petrified.
"I… I can see that…" she spat, backing away from the entryway. A massive shadow appeared in the front, making thudding sounds as it walked over. Their hearts were racing faster than they ever did as they stayed where they were, too scared to move.
The massive shadow turned to a small one, as a small squirrel jumped into the doorway. The girls shrieked and ran as fast as they could from the beast.
Cackling could be heard from this small critter. This was no ordinary squirrel. Many more shadows popped into the doorway as the lead squirrel started to chitter louder and louder until it stopped. It was pure silence.
The squirrels proceeded to follow them. They skittered across floor with such ease they were like brown... fuzzy...lighting... bolts... One by one, they darted across the floor, faster than they did before, but didnt see the front door close in front of them as the girls escaped.
"One more loss for the squirrels, i guess", one sighed.
"No nuts for us tonight. Why!" one exclaimed, bursting into tears.
"Do not fear! They shall return... soon." loud cackling could be heard as they all joined in, one by one.
