Escape
Draco Malfoy, shaking, slowly walked form the room in which he had hidden.
In his head all he could hear was his mother's voice, screaming in fear, yelling out defence for herself to her husband, he had gotten drunk again. He had shouted insults, lashing out. Draco had gotten a slap round the face and words of disappointment from his father, mostly drunken nonsense. He had hidden, trying his best not to cry, but the stinging in his eyes and the heavy lump in his throat were too hard to ignore.
This had been the worse his father had ever gotten. He covered his tear-stained face and closed his eyes; he couldn't live like this any more. For two whole hours he could hear them arguing until his mother screamed in pain and fled to her room. His father roared out, and dropped into a chair into a deep sleep.
Draco stared at the wall unblinking for ten minuets, until he walked from the room.
Back in the present he could see broken glass, tipped over furniture, and his father asleep in a chair, fear and anger spread through his body, in his veins, like electricity.
Then he heard the stairs creak, his mother walked down slowly, a large bruise on her face, she was paler then a ghost.
She cleaned up the room, the burning sun rising, and gave Draco a hug, noticing the trickle of blood coming from his cheek. She whispered "Draco, my dear son, we are leaving" they both collected their stuff, quietly, and left the great manor.
Lucius was in for a great surprise, and a lot of grief. They were to go to Narcissas sister's house.
Draco knew that he would never really get away from his father, but this was a start, and he was glad he would never have to listen to his mothers screams ever again.
Two beds and a coffee machine.
And she takes another step
Slowly she opens the door
Check that he is sleeping
Pick up all the broken glass and furniture on the floor
Been up half the night screaming now its time to get away
Pack all the kids in the car
Another bruise to try and hide
Another alibi to write
Another ditch in the road
You keep moving
Another stop sign
You keep moving on
And the years go by so fast
Wonder how I ever made it through
And there are children to think of
Baby's asleep in the backseat
Wonder how they'll ever make it through this living nightmare
But the mind is an amazing thing
Full of candy dreams and new toys and another cheap hotel
Two beds and a coffee machine
But there are groceries to buy
And she knows she'll have to go home
Another ditch in the road
You keep moving
Another stop sign
You keep moving on
And the years go by so fast
Wonder how I ever made it through
Another bruise to try and hide
Another alibi to write
Another lonely highway in the black of night
But there's hope in the darkness
You know you're going to make it
Another ditch in the road
Keep moving
Another stop sign
You keep moving on
And the years go by so fast
Silent fortress built to last
Wonder how I ever made it.
He was scared, but confident, he knew they would carry on no matter what, but he wondered how he would ever make it through.
