Normally, they weren't able to escape for more than a few moments at a time. Tonight, however, was an exception.

Mahiru was sitting on the roof of the Moonshine, curled up under a blanket as she waited for her love's arrival. Only a few moments later, he came crashing through the door that led up to their "spot", where she sat. Too tired to get up and hug him, even though she had been yearning to all day, she simply sat where she was, arms lifted towards him in a silent demand.

Mitsuru quickly complied, scooping her up and whirling her around, chuckling at her squeal of surprise. "Missed you," she mumbled into his neck when he stopped and cuddled her, still holding her up.

"Missed you, too," he told her, one hand gently rubbing her back, the other supporting her weight. She drew back slightly, beaming at him before pulling something out of her pocket to show him, legs locked around his waist. A/N: She's wearing jeans, you perverts! Lol She held it up for him to see, not realizing that she was holding it up-side-down until he playfully crossed her arms so he could see it right-side-up.

"And this is…" he let his voice trail off, studying the map, not understanding what it's for.

"A map of the constellations!" Mahiru informed him excitedly. He gave a little "oh" of sudden understanding, before going over to her little nest of blankets and dropping her gently onto them and settling down behind her, legs on the outside of hers. But she hopped back up almost immediately, scrambling across the roof on her way back to the door.

"Where are you going now?" called an exasperated, yet mildly amused Mitsuru.

"To change!"

"Change?" But she didn't hear him, the door already swinging closed behind her as she rushed downstairs.

…Five minutes later…

"Mitsuru? I'm back," Mahiru whispered in his ear, leaning over him as she knelt by his side. He was deeply asleep, almost completely buried in the blankets, the map crumpled up a few feet away. He had apparently thrown it aside in a bout of frustration.

He only mumbled, flopping onto his side. She gently shook his shoulder, scooting closer to try and whisper even louder in his ear, but before she could, Mitsuru jerked up, growling playfully as he tackled her onto the "nest." Mahiru let out a surprised squeak, before trying to fight back, barely managing and with much slacking on Mitsuru's part to push him onto his back, sprawling across his chest comfortably.

She reached down, yanking a blanket over them both before nudging his chin up and inserting the top of her head snugly under it. Giggling when he started to play with her hair, she adjusted her position when he sat up, leaning back against a section of the roof.

"I love stargazing," she murmured into the soft cotton of his shirt, her yawn muffled.

"Me too."
