Afternoon Delight

There was a warm shift and tickle of fur across Atobe's belly as the cat stretched and changed his position. Kage's little pink pads reaching towards the ceiling as he yawned and licked his nose, gazing around him with slitted eyes.

Atobe smiled indulgently at the silver tabby, watching him settle back into the cradle between his chest and Jirou's. He dropped his hand to Kage's head and rubbed the animal behind the ears until a the quiet rumble of a purr filled the room.

Ulysses sat discarded on the bedside table. He could just see the clock from his position, it wouldn't be too much longer. Jirou would wake-up soon, reenergized and ready. He had only fifteen, maybe twenty minutes left.

Jirou had changed a lot after four years. He was taller, leaner, and a little more serious. But he was still Jirou, loving things when they didn't want to be loved, until they just had to give in to the immovability of his faith in them. Jirou shifted restlessly, earning himself a glare from the perfectly positioned Kage.

Atobe gently caressed his face, fingertips playing in the blond curls and pressed his lips to Jirou's until he felt a response.

'Mm, hi…' the boy murmured sleepily. 'Did you get a lot of reading done?'

'Of course,' he smiled as Jirou wiggled closer to him, causing the cat to flee from the bed. 'I get a lot done when you nap.'
