To Dance Alone

Chapter 2

I own the poem. TP owns the rest.

I see you clad in a gown of soft jade, your skin pale with beauty

A catch you are, princess, but I must do my duty

Find an empress for my land

You are the one, as you father planned

Suddenly you look my way

You have awoken a new emotion in me, Kalisin of Conté

I cannot tear my gaze; you have caught me like fish in the net

You smile at me, I smile back. Through that one look, I feel as if we've already met.

I walk toward you and ask you to dance, you accept with a nod

As we twirl and step, I imagine what you must be thinking of me

Arrogant, selfish and rude.

No, dear princess, I am what I'm meant to be

An emperor of a powerful property

Am I acting, in your view, properly?

Without realizing it, you've fallen for me; I see it in your uncertain gaze.

You're the fish in my net, the prey in my maze

From the great sea of noblewomen, I chose you

For you've captured me in your own special way.

Dear Princess Kalisin of Contè

A/N: Like Kaddar's thoughts on Kally? Are thy realistic?
