AN:This is a pitifully short drabble on Roy Mustang's ambition in life. Please Reveiw!
Ambition- It is a hard master. It is the worst slave driver to any man, woman, or child. It is a robber that takes away all thoughts, and forces everything back to the same point. The object of ambition, and the highest set goal. There is no rest until the highest goal was reached, if it is ever reached. The ambitious man knows no rest, and he is never ready to be satisfied.
Ambition, however, is the sweetest mistress ever, and hold the best rewards. What is better then climbing another step towards the highest goal? The ambitious man never has a loss of direction. He always knows where he's going, and why. Sometimes, momentarily, he will wonder how, but never where, and never why. He knows those things. He knows always where he is going, and why he is going there.
The highest goal is a sweet, but altogether impossible thing.
That is what Roy Mustang has learned ever since vowing to reach the position of Fuhrer. It is nigh impossible, silly, laughable, idiotic, and no one takes him seriously. They all see another aspiring youngster with hopes of being the most powerful man in the country. They have seen many of them, and none of them have succeeded so far. Reaching the position of Fuhrer is nigh impossible, and Roy Mustang agrees with that.
Nigh impossible.
He has subordinates who are more loyal to him then the Fuhrer. He has connections through out higher ranks. He has charm, looks, smiles, intuition, and drive. No one takes him seriously, making his small and rare slip-ups jokes. Laughable things at coffee break. No one takes Roy Mustang very seriously. He's just an over zealous pup who has ambitions to be the next Fuhrer.
But Roy Mustang is different. He has a drive no other man before him had. He has a desire, and ambition stronger and tougher then any other 'young pup'. He is a dog with a sharp mouth of teeth he is willing and ready to use. He has power that no one suspects, and he studies people more then they realize. He is sharp, dangerously hidden, and ready to strike at any time.
He won't back down until he has reached his highest goal. He won't give up, or give himself the chance to lose his drive. He has to keep going, and keep pushing forward for all the people who trust, and put their hopes in him. For all the people who have died thinking he could change things. He won't pause for breath until he is there, with his name known everywhere as Fuhrer.
He will reach his highest goal, or he will die on the way.
