Title: Gone Forever

Disclaimer: I did not create nor do I own the characters of One Tree Hill. I just own the story line.
Summery: To be blunt. This is about Lucas's funeral and all who will miss him.
A/N: I saw the coming attractions to this week's episode of One Tree Hill and thought that he was going to die so I thought of writing what his funeral was like. I cried while writing this so if I cried while writing this I think you'll cry while reading this.
The Funeral seemed to last forever. Tears echoed throughout the church as soon as they hit the ground with a splash. Sobs seemed to last an eternity and the words that Father Jason spoke lingered in the air. Afterwards groups of people left the room, all of them were afraid to be alone, because being alone meant they would have to linger in their thoughts. The basketball players huddled by the bushes as they spoke in hushed voices about what kind of a player Lucas was. Keith stood with his arm around a shell shocked Karen, who could hardly speak as not everything had sunk in. Haley, Peyton, Nathan, Skills, and Mouth huddled around an inconsolable Brooke on the stops of the church. The cheer leaders all hung around the steps. Even Rachel couldn't ruin this moment because even she found herself missing Lucas. Father Jason came out of the church and helped Karen, Keith, Brooke, Nathan, Haley, and Peyton into the limo that would take them to the grave yard. The others watched them disappear down the road and kept staring even when it was gone. Whitey was the last one to exit the church and by this time everyone had left except the basketball players, the cheer leaders, Skills, and Mouth. They turned to Whitey looking for guidance on what they should do.
"Lucas Scott was not only an amazing player but an amazing person. He had the biggest heart I know. Tree Hill will miss him dearly, I will miss him dearly, and my advice for you all is that we should all strive to be somebody like the type of person Lucas Scott was."
With that Whitey walked down the rest of the steps, got into his car and drove away. Even in groups the students were forced to think about Whitey's words. As they left each one was thinking how they could better themselves so that they could follow what Whitey had said.
It was dark, cold and damp when Brooke snuck into the graveyard at midnight. She had not gotten to give Lucas the proper goodbye he deserved since she had not been able to stop crying. She brought with her a single red rose and a framed photo of her and Lucas. She placed the rose on top of the tombstone gingerly. Than she kneeled in the fresh soil and placed the framed photo at the bottom of the tombstone. She ran her fingers over the words reading them carefully.
"Hey Luke, you know I'm going to miss you so much. I'm going to miss your smile. The way you just knew how to make me feel so much better. I'm going to miss being in your arms and feeling so safe. I don't think I'll never feel quite as loved or as safe as when I'm with you. You were my rock and you knew everything there was about me but you still loved me. I'll never find anyone quite like you that can make me feel happy just by walking in the room. So Lucas Scott this is not goodbye, because if it was good bye I don't know if I could handle a goodbye right now. So I guess it's see you later."
Brooke slowly got to her feet. She stayed a moment longer. Her eyes lingered over the name. Lucas Scott. A young man that was taken far before his time was up. She would always love him and she would always miss him. There was a hole in her heart that could never be filled again because it wasn't Lucas that was filling it.
"I love you," Brooke whispered before she left.
