John doesn't really believe Rodney's claims. He hasn't been in Atlantis long but he knows that she wouldn't let anything like this happen to one of her children.
And he can tell that Rodney doesn't believe it either, he knows that if Rodney honestly thought he was going to die then he'd be in the labs with Zelenka. Not sitting here with his team watching an old football game and glaring at the popcorn.
But most of all John doesn't believe it because John has known a lot of dead people and none of them complain as much as Rodney.
