Doctors aren't always right
A/N This came to me while I was revising one night. I didn't get around to writing it until now. Hope you all like it, even though it's short. Yet again any tips or comments you have are welcome, as I want to get a lot better at writing. Thanks
"Kara wake up" she opened her eyes to see Lee, leaning against her rack, grinning at her.
"What are you so damn cheerful about!" she glared at him but couldn't help but smile back, his smile was so infectious.
"Oh nothing really. Just happy to be alive and stuff"
"That won't take too long to fix" she tried another glare, but failed miserably, "you just wrecked the best dream I've had in ages!"
"Oh yeah, what was it about?"
"Well you and me...and our two kids"
Lee's face dropped and the smile faded, "Kara, you know that can't happen"
"But Lee, I'm..." but something caught Lee's eye, he looked out through the open hatch and smiled again. She loved that smile, she could never stop staring at it. It always managed to make the day seem less miserable, no matter how bad that day was turning out to be.
Kara turned onto her side and looked out the hatch as well. There walking down the corridor was Dualla, hand in hand with a beautiful little girl, she had deep blue eyes just like her father and began running down the corridor as soon as she saw Lee.
"Daddy, Daddy" she shouted in glee.
"Hey sweetie, what have you got there?" said Lee as he met her at the door and she began to show him the piece of paper she had in her hand.
Kara giggled, as she caught site of the orange stick men, with mommy and daddy, written in crayon underneath. She couldn't help but notice that Lee was trying not to laugh as well, but being a good daddy he just smiled and enthusiastically told the girl it was beautiful. He had been a great dad, had always been there ever since she had been born, never let work get in the way of his special time with his little girl.
The girl ran off to one of the bunks, put the picture down and began searching frantically for something under the covers. Lee watched her for a little while and then walked back over to Kara.
"You see Kara we only have one, and Doc said there wasn't going to be any more"
Kara stood up and rubbed her stomach, " Well Doc was wrong"
Lee's eyes grew wide as he realized what she was saying, he stared at her in disbelief and only just managed to catch their daughter as she raced towards him, Teddy in hand. He swung her up and balanced her on his hip.
"Hey Mommy"
"Hey sweetheart...mommy and daddy need to tell you something," and at the girls expectant face she continued, "you're going to have a baby brother soon"
They both heaved a sigh of relief when the girl screeched in excitement. Then Lee turned back to Kara, a massive smile on his face. He wrapped his free hand around Kara's waist, and kissed her lightly on the lips.
"I love you" he whispered, "all three of you"
