A/N: Was watching To Kill A Mockingbird today and remembered how much I love the book and movie. This drabble came out of it. Boo's POV in Scout's house, when she sees him.

Light, Strangers & Her

Light.

Bright light. Too much light. Too many people—too many strangers.

But he is going to be fine. They say he is, and his chest still rises and falls normally. The girl and he are safe now.

She is telling the stranger about it, and she looks at the shadow. She smiles slowly, greeting "Boo". A guess: it's a nickname. Don't mind that; fact, don't mind anything, because she's looking and she sees, and she isn't afraid.

Fears go away, watching her, and a blanket of security settles. The light and strangeness isn't so bad when she is here.
