It was over.
It was all over. The world had been freed from the hell it'd known for almost three decades and most of them didn't even know.
As Harry Potter stood in the settling dust and rubble, staring at the lifeless body of Voldemort at his feet, he heard signs that his friends were awakening. He broke his gaze and looked around the deserted village that was Godric's Hollow. It was ironic that it had ended at the same time and place that it had all begun for Harry. For many moments, Harry didn't think. But once his mind turned back on, only one thought crossed it.
Ginny.
Without saying a word to Ron who was helping Hermione off the ground, Harry Disapparated. He arrived outside the gates of Hogwarts and walked through them. His pace quickened so he was sprinting to the castle through the darkness. He pushed the oak front doors open then walked across the entrance hall. The doors to the Great Hall were opened and the loud chattering of students was pouring from them. Harry recognized the decorations and remembered it was Halloween. He walked in, spotted Ginny's fiery red hair at the Gryffindor table and ran toward her, leaving silence in his wake. She was talking to with a friend, her back to Harry, when he reached her. Her friend's eyes widened when she saw Harry and Ginny turned around.
"Harry?" she asked a look of hope and love in her chocolate eyes.
Harry said nothing. He only pulled her up from where she sat and kissed her. It was the most passionate kiss they'd ever shared, the first one in over a year. Harry and Ginny had forgotten they were standing in the middle of a very crowded room. They were lost in the love and ecstasy they were each pouring into the kiss. After what seemed like ages of pure want, their lips broke apart. Harry rested his forehead on hers, his eyes closed, trying to catch his breath; she could feel his scar against her skin but somehow it seemed more faint then usual. Harry then pulled her into a tight embrace.
"It's over," he whispered in her ear. "He's gone. It's all over." And for the first time he said, "I love you so much."
"I love you too," Ginny said to him. Harry twirled her around feeling happier than he had done in a long time.
"Excuse me?" a voice interrupted into their moment. They both turned to face Professor McGonagall, the new headmistress. "Could you please explain what you are doing here, Mr. Potter?"
"He's gone, professor," said Harry loud enough for the whole room to hear. "Voldemort's dead."
Professor McGonagall was speechless. After a moment of staring in disbelief, she blurted out, "Are you sure?"
"Yes. I destroyed the horcruxes. I killed him. It's over."

A/N: So this was just an idea I had. It's really short and there won't be any sequels or prequels or anything but I hope you enjoyed it. Please leave reviews. I promise to reply to them.
