On with the story…

Aware

Just let me forget

All of the things you never said

Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy are seated at a table in a darkened room. "So you see, Uncle Severus, I can't wait to get rid of Potter…"

"Patience, Draco, if we rush this it will not work well. And besides, though revenge is sweet, it must be well thought out or-"

"Or what sir?"

"Never you mind"

Or you'll end up like me.

Just let me forget

All the lessons I could have learned

"Draco, you'll love being a deatheater in a few years; won't he Severus?"

"Yes Lucius, following the Dark Lord is quite the interesting and educational experience."

You also have to kill people wreck houses and then deal with yourself later after you've taken a hot shower to get rid of the sweat that glistens on your skin after you've been tortured by the Dark Lord for an hour straight.

Just let me forget

All the love I could have had

"Can you see those children Draco?"

"Yes, mum."

"They are mudbloods, commonly called muggles by the lower echelons of the magical community.

They are disgusting creatures without a spark of magic – completely worthless. Do you understand?"

"Yes, mum."

"If I ever see you talk to one of them you will be in serious trouble. They are beneath you and not deserving of your attention unless it is to humiliate them. Right, Severus."

"Listen to your mum, Draco, she knows best."

They are dirty blooded, and I wouldn't associate with them, but that's for you to decide.

Then again, they probably would have killed you if you hadn't held up everything for them. They were deatheaters.

Just let me forget

That I didn't have to be what I am.

And yet another angstyesque Draco fic has appeared from the void.
