Hey all you ppl who are brave enough to venture into my first piece of fanfiction ever written or posted. A certain nameless friend introduced me to fanfiction and this site so I decided to try my hand at it. When I first browsed the Loveless section, I was surprised that there were no stories about Ritsu present, so I decided to write one, hopefully it doesn't turn out too bad.

Please be nice and review!

Prologue

"…Sensei—" A whimper, a plea, "I…can't do this…please—p-please stop."

Ritsu pulled back and regarded the shirtless, pale, trembling boy beneath him with an amused, but a bit perplexed expression. "Saa…you're interesting." He said, meaning it entirely, tracing a finger along the other's crimson-tingedcheeks. The boy always let him whip him to the point where there was no skin on his back, only crimson lashes of dried blood. And yet… "Is it really that painful, Soubi-kun?"

Soubi did not look at him, "No, not so much." He struggled to haul himself into an upright position again, but Ritsu pinned him to the bed by the shoulders, after a moment or two, the struggling ceased. "I…I—just can't…please stop, sensei."

But what his precious protégé did not say out loud, his eyes said his fears for him. Ritsu smiled indulgently. "You are already broken." He brushed his lips against Soubi's, both a little pleased and disappointed that the boy failed to respond, Soubi lay perfectly still.

"…I have always been broken." Soubi sighed, sounding much older than he really was. "I have been in pieces ever since you." The sentence was unfinished, but the way the last word was spoke gave it an odd sense of finality.

Ritsu laughed then. He cradled Soubi gently (an emotion foreign to him during times such as these) in his arms and covered his face and neck with rough, bruising kisses, pointedly ignoring the groans and muffled gasps. "Ever since me." he repeated softly, "No one else before and no one else after."

"…Yes." A sigh. Defeat.

Ritsu shifted so that Soubi now lay on top of him. Threading his fingers lazily through the silken blonde tresses, he grabbed a wayward blanket and threw it carelessly over both of them, the night was getting cold. "Promise me."

A long pause, Soubi eventually rolled off of him and lay facing the wall. "I…promise."

Somewhere in the darkness, something shattered with a loud crash. Ritsu reached for the boy and thought nothing of it. It was probably just one of the many breakable whatnots he kept on his dresser; he would call for a housekeeper or something to clean it up in the morning, if it was in the way.

"…Sensei…?"

"Don't worry about it, Soubi-kun." He kissed the boy one last time. "Sleep now."

When Ritsu woke the next morning, the other side of the bed is empty save for Soubi's ears and tail, though still slightly warm. Soubi's clothes were gone, as expected, (though the story might have been different of Soubi had not been so much of an introvert) and the broken, glittering shards from the thing that had broke were neatly in a pile just inches away from the dresser. There were also faint traces of blood.

Ritsu smiled a little, Soubi must have cut his hands while trying to clean up the glass.

The pain and beauty of a broken promise. That was what his prized pupil was trying to show him. Soubi had always been extraordinarily gifted, he knew that even then. But Ritsu, who was blinded by the ways of lust, did not.
