Spoilers for "Need"
She keeps wondering, every time the Stargate comes alive, the inner ring spinning and stopping and spinning again, if he will come back. She's disappointed every time.
She knows she'd never had him. But she had fancied herself in love, and that had made her try. She had unjustly addicted him, with barely his consent. She knows, if she'd ever had a chance at having him, she'd lost him then.
Even when he had come back, that once, she'd known it was temporary. He saved her, and he left. She had done nothing to deserve him. Especially not while she was going through her withdrawal; the things she had said, and done, and offered, disgusted her.
Now she thinks back and she doesn't remember the before, or the during, and she tries not to remember the visit. But she does remember the looks that passed between him and the other man, Jack. And she knows she had never had him. Even if he'd not been married, she'd never had a chance.
She doubts they will ever forget each other. But she knows he has someone else who truly loves him. And she knows she will never see him again.
