A little R/T drabble
When Lily said goodbye, he knew the path he must take. No longer would he act on the innocent glances or "accidental" touches. Oh yes, I will keep my contact with the opposite sex on the platonic level, he promised to his broken heart.
Thinking back, it was a rather easy decision. Women seeking his companionship would soon lose interest in the shy, unassuming lycanthrope when he would not return their advances. Those few persistent souls that wormed their way into his life always "wanted to be just friends" soon after they learned of his condition. Just as well, you were never more than a friend anyway, he thought.
He chuckled softly when he thought how quickly his resolve weakened when a colorful, yet clumsy witch fell in to his lap, literally. Her brightly colored hair and sparkling eyes penetrated the intricate mystery he built around his much mended heart, and for once he could see himself falling helplessly for this girl. No. I can't. I promised myself.
Oh, how fickle fate can be, he mused while he watched her sleeping form in the invading sunrise. The path he swore to always tread, the very path that left him alone all those years, inevitably led to her.
