Once Upon a Game

Once Upon A Time
All the games fit in a cupboard.
They weren't very fancy,
But we were never bored.

Marshmallowy voices
Chanting you on.
Before you know it,
All the Kikos were matched and gone.

Six Neopets did what the Techo said,
Their voices became a rhythm,
and to this beat we would tread.

Throw, throw, pass, SPLAT!
Remember Little Timmy the Korbat?
Furro Zurro, what is that?
Gormball's where it was at!

Nothing was as easy as NeoWardrobe,
Taking our Neopets to put on a robe.
But dress up can be fun,
Especially when there was NP to be won!

Through all the games,
There was one thing the same,
A yellow Chia who was insane.

We'd click him,
But he'd only get red mad.
He is around no more,
And that makes me sad.

We could never defeat him,
For once we were close,
The "real" game would begin.
Yet it is him I miss most.

Some games live on,
Others are in their grave,
A few are completely gone.
But their memories let us save.
For once upon a time,
These games lived in glory days.

Author's Notes: Thanks for reading my poem! It is my way of passing on a bit of Neopian history to the younger Neopians, since Neopets itself is denying its history and in fact erasing it so that only personal offsite archives remain. Any feedback will be read and appreciated greatly!
