Cassie slammed the car door angrily behind her. "I can't believe you did that!"
A teenage male stuck his head out of the driver's side window. "Cass, come on. I'm sorry!"
Cassie snorted. "Huh!" Cassie started to walk away.
Her date started his car. He slowed down to roll beside her. "Cassie, please, get in the car."
"No." Cassie kept walking.
"Cassie, just let me drive you home."
"You honestly think I'm going to get back in that car with you? I don't think so!"
"Fine!" he exclaimed. "Have it your way. Walk home!" With a rev of the engine Cassie's date drove off, leaving Cassie with only a view of his tail lights glowing in the darkness.
Cassie screamed through clenched teeth and stomped her foot. Huffing, Cassie reached into her handbag and pulled out her cell phone. For a minute Cassie hesitated before she punched in a number.
"Hey, it's Cassie. I need your help. Can you come pick me up?"

Cassie stood up, brushing leaves from the back of her skirt, as a black SUV slowed to a stop in front of her. The passenger window slid down.
"Do you require transportation, Cassandra Fraiser?" Teal'c stared solemnly out at her.
Cassie grinned in relief and pulled the door open, climbing into the car. "Thanks, T, I didn't know who else to call."
Teal'c waited patiently as Cassie buckled her seatbelt and pulled away from the curb. "Could you not telephone your mother?"
Cassie rolled her eyes. "She didn't want me going out with him in the first place. I really don't want a lecture right now. Jack would demand to know his name so he could kick his ass. Sam would sympathize and regale me with stories about when she was my age. Daniel, well, he's still at the SGC, isn't he?"
Teal'c nodded. "Indeed he is."
Cassie shook her head. "That man needs to get a life. You were the only one I could call, Teal'c. The only one I could trust."
"Then I am most honoured."
They fell into silence, silence that continued until it was punctured by a muffled sob.
Teal'c frowned. "Did he injure you, Cassandra Fraiser?"
"No," Cassie cleared her throat. "No, I'm okay." Cassie's voice broke on the last syllable, her sobs becoming harsher and more frequent.
Teal'c pulled the car over and unbuckled his seatbelt. Gently, he reached over and unbuckled Cassie's. Free from the cumbersome safety Cassie threw herself at Teal'c, burying her face in his board chest. Teal'c wrapped his arms around her, comforting the young girl as best he could.
"I can't believe he tried to do that… and then he just left me… he left me out here… Oh, Teal'c…"
"Are you certain you are unharmed?"
Cassie sniffed. "Only my feelings."
Teal'c looked down at her seriously. "Do you wish for me to speak with his boy?"
Cassie laughed. "No, thanks, Teal'c, but I'll keep it in mind." Cassie pulled back, haphazardly wiping her cheeks. "Thanks for coming to pick my up. You didn't have to. I know you're busy being the figurehead for a rebellion and all."
"I do not have a daughter," Teal'c told her, "but I do believe that I could not care for you more if you were my own blood. O'Neill, Major Carter and Daniel Jackson have often expressed similar sentiments. You have many people that care for you deeply and wish to protect you from harm; there is nothing we would not do for you."
Cassie smiled widely, her entire face lighting up. "I love you guys."
She kissed Teal'c on the cheek, kneeling on her seat to reach him, and hugged him quickly, but tightly. Cassie settled back into the passenger seat and put her seatbelt on. She took a deep breath. "So, do you want to go get some ice-cream?"
Teal'c smiled. "I would like that very much."
"Then lets go, there's this new place that opened up near here."
"As you wish."
