Deep, bloody furrows were carved by a vulture's talons into vulnerable skin. My murderous intent vapourized; my arrogance vanished; my powerful ideology rendered impotent in a heartbeat of indecisiveness.
She would crumble if I so much as brushed my nen against her, yet I knelt down, tenderly held her hand and winced at wounds only the weak endure.
She would die in the Selection.
"You are…an important guest."
I trampled over a life without reason. Therefore what great power I possess. Violence is the strongest power in the world.
