Okay - I usually write Hardy Boys fan fiction but have fallen in love with Supernatural and just had to try my hand at a Sam and Dean fan fic. It's short shrugs but it is the only the first one :)
This is what I think might have happened just before Dean went to see Cassie in the Route 666. I hope you enjoy it!
Convincing Dean
It's dark. The room is small but paid for. For the night anyway…
"You need to go talk to her-"
"Shut up."
"Dean-"
"Go to sleep."
"Dean!"
"I'm being serious here, Sam. Don't make me have to hurt you!"
Silence. And a loud sigh….
"Dean?"
"Sam… stay out of this."
"But-"
"I'm warning you brother. Don't push it!"
"Fine."
Another sigh and the shifting of a body under crisp sheets…a change of position…
"You aren't going to let this go are you?"
"I never said anything."
"Yeah… whatever, Sam"
"Whatever yourself… I'm trying to sleep here!"
More restless shuffling; an exasperated arm flung across a face…
"This is so stupid."
"What?"
"This!"
"Okay—"
"You think I should go see her."
"I think – we already had this conversation Dean. It went something like you threatening to kill me."
A heavy silence darker than the night in the small hotel room...
"I never threatened to kill you."
"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DEAN!"
"Fine! I'm going to go see her— But this is all your fault, Sam! Whatever happens – I'm holding YOU responsible— dumb ass!"
"Freak."
The sound of a body getting out bed, hurriedly dressing and then slamming the door on the way out… A quieter sigh. A smile in the darkness…
The door jolts open and a head is stuck back into the room. He doesn't need to see his brother to know he has just bolted up in bed…
"Don't leave this room until I get back!"
"Yes mother…"
A scowl lost in the darkness and wasted on the younger man anyway….
"Shotgun?"
"Under the bed."
"Phone?"
"Under my pillow."
"Salt?"
"Leave Dean."
Satisfied the older boy leaves again and this time there is the ominous click – or is that the welcoming click – of the lock…
The one left behind finally settles down in the bed and closes his eyes…
"I love you too, big brother…"
Dozing off, Sam Winchester is struck with a thought… There was no one else on the face of the earth quite like his brother…
ooooooOOOOOOoooooo
Dean Winchester held the beautiful black woman in his arms. His body was tired – a good tired, and as he gazed down at her, he couldn't help the smile that stole across his face.
Oh yes… he owed his brother dearly for this.
'Thanks Sam,' he thought and then allowed a few moments of peace and contentment to stay the hunter – just for a little while…
Just until the phone rang any way.
The End
