My take on Colin and Penelope's story taking into account the TV show changes from the book shown in Seasons 1 and 2. Colin has not really seen the amazing woman who had been under his nose for years. What would happen if another man started pursuing Penelope? Would he realize what he was missing?

When Penelope rejects Colin's offer of a dance, he does not understand what he can have done to upset her. As he attempts to make it up to her, it is clear Pen is only interested in reconciling with Eloise. When Colin chases the two girls into a lightning storm, he did not expect a strike of lightning to take their troubles into the year 2022.
