This is a oneshot story revolving around Murtagh and Thorn directly after the Battle of the Burning Plains. It takes place before Brisingr, and involves some characters not from the series. Shruikan and Galbatorix make an appearance, and there is some mild violence because of it. Eragon is breifly mentioned, but doesn't make an appearance.
