Jimmy shivered for endless hours, and tried to warm himself. No matter how many covers he had over his body, or how much the furnance was pumping. Jimmy was still cold & shaky. He had never ever been underwater for that long, never! All he wanted to do was protect the crew of The Venture. But Kong didn't like guns, and slung Jimmy & Jack Driscoll into the water. Jimmy couldn't recall much, expect being dragged to the surface by Jack. He blacked out for at least 12 hours, and woke up in his cabin; safe and sound. Only problem now was that Jimmy had spiked a fever from the freezing water, & was ill with pneumonia. As he tried to reach for his book, he realized he had no feeling in hands. Luckily for him, Jack was walking by & saw him struggling. He smiled & handed Jimmy the book. "Mr. Driscoll, I thought you were sick in bed?" Jimmy shivered. "I'm fine, Jimmy." Jack smiled & placed a full hand on Jimmy's damp brow. Jimmy felt a sharp pain disrupt his whole body, he took Jack's hand & held it in a firm grasp. After the pain had eased, he relaxed his hand inside his friend's. "I feel so sick. I can't move, I can't sleep, and I don't eat!" Jimmy explained quietly. "You're alive...In my opinon, that's better then being 9 feet underground." Jack laughed. Jimmy could only smile, he was too weak to laugh or even manage a small giggle. Driscoll finally snapped back into reality, and realized he had to get ready to prep for opening night in New York. But something urged him to stay, he knew he had to finish the last pages of the play, but he couldn't find the courage to leave Jimmy. "I heard you haven't finished your play. Do you need to leave?" Jimmy asked waringly. "No, I'll finish it back at my place...Plus, who can leave a guy who has pneumonia & no feeling in his body?" Jack said. Jimmy suddeny smiled...It wasn't a half-smile, or a light smile...It was a soothing full smile. Jimmy closed his eyes, and started to rest. Jack realized that Jimmy would be awake in the morning, and, in his opinon, that was all that should matter.
