Photos
Summary: Photos of small moments between Mac and Danny. Ready the camera. Click.
A drabble, with the established relationship of (what else?) Mac and Danny. Inspired by my love of Polaroid cameras, this is just an excuse for a pointless piece of fluff!
I'm still using Aiden because we haven't met Lindsey yet here in the UK, and even if we had, Aiden is one of my favourite characters. 'Click' is the camera, an excuse to change the scene. This should tide you over until the next chapter of Running Away. Enjoy!
Mac smiled to himself as he readied his camera for another shot. He had realised that, evenafter a year of being together, he and Danny had no photos they had taken together. This led to him rescuing his Polaroid camera from storage and he had taken to carrying it with him, catching Danny in some of his more private moments.
He shuffled through previous pictures, smile growing.
Danny, glancing up from where he was bent over a microscope, smiling at him past the camera.

Danny sitting next to Aiden and Flack, head thrown back in a laugh at a joke somebody had cracked, eyes twinkling with a friendly arm thrown over Aiden's shoulders.

Danny, leaning against a squad car outside NYPD, studying the sky with a considering expression.

Danny sitting on a white hospital bed, cradling his day-old niece to him. He saw the tears in the image, and remembered the moment. Jenna and Adam had told Danny that they'd called her Elena, in memory of their mother.

There had been times, where Danny had stolen the camera and returned the favour, he realised as he continued shuffling through them.
Himself and a CSI-in-training, crouching in a crime scene, explaining to the young woman a particular piece of evidence. Danny captured the mentor-student moment perfectly.

Himself, as what he recognised as his parents' house in Chicago, leaning against the wall and watching the photographer (Danny) with a fond expression.

Then there had been times when others had taken the camera behind his back, capturing photos with both Danny and himself in it.
Danny and Mac, sprawled fully-clothed on a bed, limbs entangled and Danny partially resting on him, tiny smiles on both of their faces. That had to have been taken by either Jenna or Stella. Only they would have the nerve to do that.

Mac and Danny sitting next to each other in Stella's apartment, Danny's head resting against Mac's shoulder as the other man whispered into his ear. A quiet smile was shared between them as they seemed completely unaware of Stella's presence, let alone the camera.

Mac was turning, looking up from the photos in his hands when he heard the distinctive click and whirr of the camera. His eyes narrowed as he spotted a laughing Danny removing the photo from the camera.
"Danny?"
"Stella's going to love this one" Danny crowed, placing the Polaroid camera on the table.
"Danny" Mac said warningly, and Danny just laughed, backing away whilst rapidly waving the picture to dry it.
"She'll probably frame it-"
"Danny"
"It'll hold place on honour on her mantel"
"Danny, give me the picture"
Dannychuckled and held it up for inspection. Mac studied it, pondering what was off, until he realised. Hand moving up to his throat, he touched his shirt, and directed a smirk at the piece of material gripped in Danny's hand.
"No tie"
