The admins, in all their wisdom, saw fit to delete Molly Weasley's Practical Guide to Magical Childcare for alleged violations of their guidelines. They informed me afterward, on 27 January 2006, but neglected to mention which violation they felt the story committed.
Because they also neglected to enclose any contact information and because the address which generated the message doesn't accept replies, it took me a couple days to discover a way to contact the admins to find out why they deleted Molly's Guide.
Hidden at the bottom of the home page is a link to a Support Center where one can create a ticket containing their question which generates a system automated response promising to look into it. I waited. No response. I added a reply to the ticket. No response. I created a new ticket with a more urgent classification. Still no response. Today I searched the web for any contact information and found as a possible email for the founder/owner of I sent a polite inquiry, but I don't expect any response from that address either.
I also discovered, during my search, that I'm far from the first person whose fic was deleted for no apparent reason. And evidently, standard policy when an author in that situation manages to find someone to contact, is one of strict unresponsiveness. "If she doesn't see us, maybe she'll go away." It's an abominably rude sort of policy.
What are they hiding for?
I refuse to take further part in this archive. Subsequent chapters of Molly Weasley's Practical Guide to Magical Childcare can be found at PhoenixSong (dot) net., a site whose standard of fanfiction quality is beautifully high. I'm honored to be there among such amazingly good authors.
May I also recommend The Sugar Quill (sugarquill -dot- net) as another source of very high quality, beta'd fanfiction. Having a beta makes all the difference. And if you must access a huge monster of an archive, go to Fiction Alley. At least there, the admins talk to you if you have a problem – they don't hide in their cone of silence.
I am sorry for the inconvenience to you.
Thank you for reading Molly's Guide.
I look forward to seeing you elsewhere in the fandom.
With Affection,
-Tante
