IN LOVING MEMORY

By MissOutcastus

This is for my Jii-chan, who died May 15, 2005. We will miss you forever.

I do not own InuYasha or The Broken Chain.

Kagome climbed out of the well, a dazed look on her face. She was void of her smile and back-pack. "KAGOME!" Shippou ran up to her. "What's wrong?" The futuristic priestess collapsed crying. Sango came up road and placed an arm around the girl.

"What happened Kagome-san?" she asked "My Jii-chan died." She cried harder.

InuYasha came and sat in front of the crying girl.

"What's wrong?" he asked. "My Jii-chan died!" she flung her self at InuYasha, and he held her tight.

Sango got up "Come Shippou." They made there way to Miroku at the top of the hill. "Her Grandfather died." She explained. "Then let's let them be, Sango-koi." He placed an arm around her waist "Hai Miroku-koi." They walked back to the village.

InuYasha kissed Kagome's forehead softly. "Shh. . . It will be alright." Kagome looked up at him. "Really?"

"Really. When I lost my mother I didn't think things would ever be okay again. But now I know that things are alright. As long as you're here." He leaned down and kissed her.

"Everything will be alright Kagome." "Will . . . you come to the funeral with me?"

She asked timidly.

"Of course...koi." "Thank-you, InuYasha-koi." InuYasha picked Kagome up and carried her through the well. Kagome wasn't sure if she believed him.

Kagome cried on InuYasha's shoulder the whole funeral. When she got up to speak, InuYasha went with her and held her hand.

"My grandfather was a wonderful man. He helped all of us threw hard times. Without him or family is broken. This poem is called 'The Broken Chain.'

We little knew that morning, that God
was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you
you did not go alone
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories
your love is still our guide
and though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same
but as GOD calls us one by one,
The Chain will link again.

Kagome stepped down and InuYasha walked her back to their seats.

Later that day at the shrine Kagome sat on InuYasha's lap while he stroked her hair.

"Everything will work out. You'll see." Kagome looked into his eyes and this time she believed him.

In loving memory

A special thanks to my cousin Ninjalord. Who out of all my family has been a shoulder to cry on threw out this whole experience. Thank you Tony-chan. I love you.

Good bye to you we'll meet again someday.
