I rolled over and looked at the clock. 3:00 AM. Man, life can be such a drag. I pulled the pillow over my head, and tried to go back to sleep. I must have dozed off, because when I woke back up, the clock said 3:10 AM. Wow, a whole ten minutes of sleep.

"Man! What is up with me! I can't sleep at all!" Usually I was asleep by now, but for the past three days, I haven't been able to get any sleep what so ever.It felt like I was being watched by somebody, or something constantly. I rolled over and grabbed the pillow once again. I closed my eyes, desperatly trying to sleep. I had freaking school tomorrow, and I needed the sleep. I threw the pillow off of my face and it landed on the floor. I bent down to pick up the pillow, and I that was when my life was about to change forever.

I seen a pair of eyes, glaring at me. I couldn't really tell who, or what, they belonged to. It looked like a dog, because it had pointed ears. I stood up and threw the pilliow onto the bed. I walked over to Benji's food bowl, and grabbed a couple bits. I cautiously walked back over to the bed and layed the food down.

"Come on out, I won't hurt you," I said, sympethically. I whistled a couple of times, but the eyes never moved. I could see that the ears were moving back and forth. I looked up on the bed. Benji was still on the bottom, curled up under his blanket, sleeping. I looked back underneath the bed. I grabbed my slipper, and attemped to coax the "dog" out.

"Come on, you stupid dog! I don't have all night!" I yelled in frustration. The eyes started moving closer. I backed up, and jumped onto the bed. Then, the whole animal came out from underneath the bed, and stood up. It wasn't an animal! It was some sort of freaky dog human person! "Why you little-" the creature started to say. I threw a pillow at it, attempting to hurt it I guess. It ripped up the pillow. I could see now that it was a guy, with white hair, wearing some sort of red jump suit. I shrieked in terror.

"Do I look like a dog to you!"it yelled at me. I just sat on the bed, pillow in front of my face, terrified. I threw another pillow at him. He caught it in mid air and tossed it aside. "Well!" he yelled at me. I shook my head no. Benji was awake now, and he started walking over to the guy.

"Sit Benji!" Instead of Benji sitting, the guy in front of me fell down, crashing onto the floor. I gasped.

"YOU LITTLE-" he said, eyes glaring with anger.

"I'm sorry! I was telling benji to s-"

"Do not say that word again!"

"What word? Sit?" He fell down to the floor again. "Sorry! I didn't mean it that time! I swear!" I was half crying now. I buried my face into the pillow.

"Little girl, that's not going to help. I need to ask you something." I removed the pillow from my face, and stared at him blankly. I was thinking if I should tell him that I wasn't a "little" girl, or if I should just keep quiet, and let him talk. I decided to keep quiet. "Have you seen any kind of jewelry lately?" I shook my head yes. "Ok, can I see it?"

"You're not going to rob me, are you?"

"Hmph, why would I want to rob such an ignorant little girl like you?" I stared at him, ready to cry. Nobody had called me ignorant, except for my family, but they were always teasing me. "Man! Can you just show me what jewelry you have? I promise I won't rob you," he said, with a smile on his face. I had a feeling that he was thinking something else than what he had said, but I walked over to my dresser and pulled out all the jewlry I had ever owned. It was some earrings from when I was a baby, a cross necklace,a bronze braclet, and a ring, which was plastic with a fake diamond in it. I layed it on the bed, showing the guy. He fumbled with my earrings, threw my necklaces aside, handed me my braclet, but took the plastic ring. "Hehe, thanks kid." He took the ring and started twords the door of my room.

"It won't open," I said meakly.

"Hmm? Why?"

"Well, my mom is afraid that I will sneak out during the night."

"Oh, that seems like a stupid reason." "

Yeah, I know, but my mom just won't trust me." He walked over, and sat down on the bed next to me.

"So, uh what's your name?" he asked. He seemed alot friendlier now.

"Well, I'll tell you mine, but only if you tell me yours first." "Ok, fine. I'm InuYasha."

"I'm Teal."

"Teal... That's a pretty name, I guess. It's unusual, that's for sure."

"Well, InuYasha is an odd name. I've never heard it, except-" I stood up and walked over to my book bag. I grabbed a book out of it, which was one of my favorites. I walked over and showed InuYasha the book.

"Wow, a whole book series on me, eh?"

"Yeah, it's pretty cool." InuYasha opened the book, and skimmed the pages, mumbling comments about how some of the stuff was fake, and how they exaderated on how pretty Kagome was.

"So, uh, why did you take that plastic ring that glows?" I questioned, a bit confused.

"Huh, you mean that you've read the book, but you still understand nothing?" I was confused, and I guess InuYasha could tell, because he started going into some long story about some jewl.

I guess I dozed off, because when I woke, the sun was up, but my alarm didn't go off. I sat up in bed, wondering if it was a dream. I looked down along the side of the bed. InuYasha was sprawled out on the floor, drool all over his face. Benji was down on the floor, laying right beside him. Then, I hearda knock on my door.

"Teal?" my mom said, peaking out from behind my door.

"Uh, what mom?" I muttered

"It's time to get up, if you don't hurry, you're gonna be late for school."

"Ok, mom, thanks." I quickly got up. I started nuging InuYasha with my foot. "Hey, get up! My mom is gonna come in sooner or later. How do you want me to explain you her?" He rolled over, and mumbled something. "I said, get up you lazy idiot!" He just layed there, snoring. "Ack! It's almost time for school, and I'm not even ready! There's gotta be a way-" I had an idea. I'd play hookie today. I'd get some water, and put it on my head so it would look like I was sweating, cough alot, and complain that my stomach hurt. My mom would buy that. I started to poke InuYasha with a pencil. "Get up!" He finnaly sat up.

"Huh?" InuYasha blinked a couple times. "

Thank goodness! Listen, I need you to hide someplace for 15 minutes. I'm playing hookie today, there's no way I can go to school today."

"What's 'hookie?" "

It's where you fake that you're sick, like I'm going to do. Just hide under the bed again, and watch me."

"Ok..." InuYasha crawled back under the bed.

Not a moment to spare. As soon as he was under the bed, and I was under neath the sheet of the bed, my mom came in. "Mom, I can't go to school today. I'm having a killer headache, my stomach hurts, and I'm sweating." I made a fake cough.

"Ok, well, then I guess you'll have to make up your work tomorow or something. I'm going to work still though, are you going to be ok?"

"Yeah mom, I'll be fine." My mom looked at me with a worried look on her face.

"Ok, then, I guess I'll see you about six then." She closed the door. I made a reliefed sigh.

"InuYasha, you can come out now." He crawled out again.

"Your such a faker," he said.

"Yeah, I know, I haven't ever lied to my mom before." I felt bad, real bad. InuYasha walked over to the door and started to turn the nob. "Where are you going? You just got here."

"Listen, kid," I shot a glaring look tword him,"I mean Teal, I've got what I came for, and now it's time for me to go."

"But I played hookie so I could stay home!" I was upset now. All that faking for what? Nothing. Nothing at all. InuYasha was leaving, I had nothing to do. But wait, what about the invisble fence? It was one of those shocking ones, you know, the ones for dogs? Well, my mom had one, but it only let her through. She would come home early and turn it off for me when I got home. "InuYasha-" I started to say, but he was already gone. I rushed out of my room, not even caring to put my slippers on. I walked to the window and pressed my nose against the smooth, coldglass. I could see him walking, getting closer to the flag that marked the electric fence. One more step and- He was down on the ground, sorta twitching now. I started laughing, then I realized that I should probably go help him. I grabbed my coat and rushed out.

"InuYasha, are you alright? I tried to tell you, but you were gone." I stated.

"Yeah. I just descovered that electric hurts... very bad." I could see the sparks of electric moving through his hair.

"You want some help?" I said, extending my hand.

"N...no," he said, and shoved my hand aside. Only a guy could've ran into the electric fence. He struggled to stand, but he managed. He limped back into the house and sat on the couch. He was recovered from the electric shock now. "So, one question. Why does you mom have that freaking fence thing?" he said, annoyed.

"Same reason she locks my door. She's afraid that I'll sneak out."

"Man, talk about a tough life. Not even trusted by your mother."

"Yeah, I know. Well, since your stuck here, tell me why you took that plastic ring."

"Because," he said, popping the circular diamond off the ring,"of this." He held it up and showed me.

"Wait, you wanted my ring because of a marble?"

"No, you idiot! It's the Shikon Jewl."

"And what does it do exactly?"

"Gosh, humans here are really dumb. The Shikon Jewl, or 'Jewl of Four Souls', is a very vauable item to me, usless to you." He said, smirking.

"Oh! It's that shiny marble that you had to help Kagome put back together, right?"

"Yeah. You catch on quickly." He said, a bit sarcastic. "And you're telling me that this girl reads the books?" he said under his breath.

"And tell me why I had it. I mean, there's like a bazzilion other places where it could've ended up."

"You tell me that. I wish I knew."

"And you've been stalking me for what, three days? I bet you're the reason why I couldn't sleep."

"Wait, I haven't been stalking you for three days, just last night."

"Ok, then what was the thing under neath my bed the other night then? Hmm? Can you explain that, InuYasha?" InuYasha sat there with a puzzled look on his face.

"Maybe it was your dog."

"Uh huh, sure," I said, sarcastically. "He's always on the bed, and he can't get up, or down, it."

"Okay, then maybe you were just imagining it."

"Like I was imagining you?"

"Wait, I'm not an illusion, I'm real. Wait, what if you are the illusion?" He stared at me, trying to figure out if I was real or not.

"Trust me, I'm real. Same as you."

"Then maybe-" he let the thought trail off. Maybe it's another demon, he thought to himself.

Who do we meet? How do things turn out? What happens next?
