I woke up before my alarm even went off, which was highly strange, as I was not a morning person. My mom had to usually pry me out of bed. I lifted Benji down off the bed and grabbed his leash. I slipped on my shoes, and threw on my coat. I took my hair out of a ponytail, so nobody could really tell that I just woke up. I clipped the leash on Benji, and walked out of the room, silently hoping that the door would not squeak. It didn't squeak, as loud that is, and I crept as silent as I could to the door. I opened it careful, so as not to awaken anybody. Jade and InuYasha were still sleeping, so I was lucky. I gently shut the door, so it wouldn't slam behind me.
I sniffed the air. It smelled of morning dew. I hadn't been up this early since I was little. Everything outside seemed to be sleeping. A few cars here and there, but everything was mostly quiet. The shades on the houses were pulled and all the lights in them were off. It was sort of creepy, because there's usually at least a few other people on the sidewalk, but there were none today. The sky was purple, with tints of pink here and there. It was so beautiful. The sky alone took the creepiness out of the morning. I started walking Benji down the sidewalk. He must have been excited about this too, for he was scurring along, and I had to pratically run to keep up with him.
About an hour or so later, we came back. The house was awake now, well, everybody but Jade.
"Morning mom," I said, cheerfully.
"Teal, you're awake this early? I was just getting ready to go into your room to wake you up," my mom said.
I grabbed a bowl, a spoon and a box of ceral, and sat down at the table. I shoved the ceral in, fast as I could, because I wanted to get to school.
"Teal, why are you eating so fast?" my mom said, looking at me with an odd look on her face.
"I want to get school early today, mom," I replied in between the spoonfuls of ceral.
"Teal, today is Saturday," InuYasha said from the couch. My mouth dropped.
"You mean-" I started to say before I was cut off.
"Yes, that you got up early on a Saturday. It's a good thing though, because I have to go to work today, and Jade has to go to college," my mom said.
I got off the chair, and walked over to Benji. I had forgotten to undo his leash. I unclipped it, and opened the basement door for him. It was his job to wake Jade up, so he hobbled down the stairs, and barked. It must have woken Jade up, because he was yelling. I tried to keep myself from laughing, and fell down.
"Teal, what's so funny? Benji does that every morning," my mom said, a confused look on her face.
"Well, I just haven't heard Benji bark... like that in a while," I said, in between my laughs. I was laughing so hard, I was crying. I stood up, finally. "I'm okay, I swear."
Benji came hobbiling backup the stairs, with Jade behind him.
"Have a nice wake up call, Jade?" I said, as I started snickering.
"Oh shut it," he said as he walked over and flicked the top of my head.
"Well, if you wouldn't have ate the ceral, you could have had the pancakes and sasuage I made for you," my mom said, as she took the plate into the kitchen.
I picked up my bowl and set it on the floor very descretly so Benji could lick what was in the bowl. I snapped my fingers quietly and he walked over. He stuck his nose in the bowl.
"Teal, don't be feeding Benji your ceral again. He threw it up last time," my mom called from the kitchen.
"Sorry Benji, maybe next time," I said as I petted his head. I grabbed my bowl from the floor and took it into the kitchen. I set it on the counter and walked back into the dining room. I was still in my pajamas, so I went to my room to put some clothes on. I grabbed a pair of jeans and a t-shirt out of the closet and put them on. I didn't feel like putting my shoes or socks on, so I walked back out and plopped myself down on the couch, next to InuYasha.
"Bye Teal, Jade, Benji, and InuYasha. I'll be home later," my mom called from the kitchen, as she left.
"Bye Mom!" I said.
"Teal, is there ANYTHING on but news here?"InuYasha asked me, annoyed with the tv programs.
"Well, let's see. There's Barney, and Sesame Street, and the News," I said as I read the TV guide aloud.
"Hey, you guys could order a movie. I'll pay for it," Jade said, walking into the living room.
"How are you gonna pay for it, Jade? You don't even have a job," I said, questioning Jade.
"Hey, I just got a job, so that's how I'll pay for it. I gotta run though, I have college," Jade said as he started twords the door. "Bye, and be good," Jade said as he walked out the door.
"So, what movie do you want to order?" InuYasha asked me.
"I don't care. You can pick. As long as it's nothing rated R or anything like that," I said, as I yawned. I got up way to early. I layed my head on InuYasha's shoulder. It felt good. I was thinking to myself that InuYasha was actually kind of cute. I'd have to write this all in a diary later.
InuYasha turned his head and looked at me. He put his arm around me, and we started watching 50 first dates, even though I had seen a bazillon times.
Wow! I'm actually starting to get feelings for him! What happens next? You shall find out!
