"That was so cool!" Xavier said. InuYasha and I gave him glaring looks, telling him to be quiet.

The three of us stuck our ears against the door, straining to hear what they were saying.

"I knew that using toxic gems wasn't a good idea. I mean, how else do you think they escaped?" One guard said.

Toxic gems? What the heck did they mean by that? I kept my ear against the door.

"Well, you know Jade. He's a sucker for anything that's green or blue. The gems were blue, the toxic was green," another one said. The voices sounded vaguly familar, but I couldn't put my finger on who they were.

"Yeah, I'll say. I once showed him a piece of paper with a blue and green line on it, and he kept it. I imagine that he still has it," the third one said.

"Hey, has any body seen the blonde girl, the white haired guy, or the little punk? They're not in their cells," the fourth one said.

"You mean that they escaped? Man, we're gonna get it now! Jade's gonna be so mad, it's not funny!"

We pulled our ears away. I sulked down. What did they do to me? I was guessing that Jade had used a toxic gem on me, giving me these powers. Was that a good thing? Weren't there side effects? InuYasha must have noticed what I was thinking, because he knelt down next to me.

"Teal, it's ok. I'm not going to let them hurt you, I promise."

I started sobbing. I was so afraid here. This place was the opposite of home. It was even worse than the opposite. Xavier knelt down beside me, and started patting my back.

"Don't cry Teal. We're together, and InuYasha and I won't let them get you, right?" Xavier asked InuYasha.

"Yeah, now come on. Let's go wipe the floor with that self appointed "Masta Evil," InuYasha said as he stood up.

I wiped my eyes and stood up. We walked along a corridor cautiously. I constantly was turning my head, looking for any danger. It was a huge corridor, and none of us were sure where Jade would be.

"You think he's eating lunch?" Xavier asked.

"Maybe, you never know," I said.

"He seems possed, you know?" Xavier said.

"Yeah, and it's scary and creepy, and unnerving," I commented.

"Come on, I think I got his scent," InuYasha said.

"OK," me and Xavier said at once.

We started walking on a half-blue, half-green carpet. Jade hated those colors. He must be possed, I thought. We kept walking for about 20 minutes, until we came to an automated door.

Xavier was studying the lock. "Hmm, looks like it's voice activated. Our voices won't work, it'll just trigger the alarm, and I don't want to be in a cell again."

I was silent. I was trying to figure out who that one guard was. He seemed very familar, the more I thought about it. Maybe it was Chris, a member of Jade's "League of Pimps". He was a nice kid, but it didn't seem like it was him. He looked like Chris, but he didn't act like Chris. I let the thought pass out of my head.

"Teal, you alive there? You haven't said anything in five minutes, are you alright?" Xavier asked as he waved his hand in front of my face.

I blinked a few times. "Yeah, I'm fine, I was just thinking."

"Alright, as long as you feel alright," Xavier said, in a musing tone of voice. "Maybe it's a side effect," Xavier joked.

"Hey! That's not funny! What if it actually is? " I said in a worried tone.

"Nah, don't worry. You look fine. Do you feel alright?" InuYasha asked.

"Yeah, I feel fine, I was just thinking about that one guard," I replied.

"He looks kinda like Chris, doesn't he?" Xavier asked.

"Yeah, but he doesn't act like him. Maybe he's been brainwashed or something," I said.

"Can you guys quite jabbing? If this person really is Chris, then maybe he can help."

Will Chris help us? Is he even Chris? And where the heck is Jade?
