For a while, Xavier and I walked in silence, not speaking a word. I was thinking about what I had done, and why I had done it. I couldn't quite come to answer, but I just kept trying to think of a reason. Xavier was the one who finally broke the silence.

"So, how long you think it'll take us to get to Jade's castle?"

I stared straightforward, not noticing the question I had been asked.

"Hello! I asked how long you think it'll take to get to Jade!" Xavier repeated as he nudged my arm.

"Oh, uh, I don't know," I said, coming back to the "real" world.

"Gosh, you seem to be spacing out alot lately. You sure you're fine?"

"Yeah, I'm cool." I said as I started sprinting ahead.

"Hey, wait up!" Xavier shouted from behind me.

"Stay here, I'll be right back!"

"Where are you going?"

"I need to go get something to eat," I said.

"But-" Xavier started to say before I cut him off.

"Gimme 10 minutes!"

I kept running forward, not looking back. I wasn't really going to get something to eat, and I think Xavier knew that, but maybe he didn't. Truthfully, I didn't even know where I was going. I just had a gut feeling that we were so close to Jade's castle, and I had to find it.

Suddenly, I tripped. I must have slid a few feet, for it shreded the already worn out legs of my jeans. I turned my head around to see what I had fallen on. There was nothing, not even a small rock or twig.

"Huh, guess it was my own feet. I better not go so fast," I said aloud as I got up and examined my leg.

There was a small cut in my knee, but it was minor, and it didn't hurt. I resumed my run, but at a somewhat slower pace,

The trees seemed to be never ending, and the sky seemed to be turning a warm rose color. I must've been gone for more than 10 minutes already, and it didn't seem like it. Xavier was probably getting worried. I figured if I just sat and waited, he'd eventually find me. So that's exactly what I did, but I think it was one of the biggest mistakes I'd ever make.

My stomach gave me an uneasy feeling the longer I waited, like something was coming. Something other than a human. I ignored the feeling, seeing as it was probably because I was tired. I had mud caked all over, my legs were covered in grass and dirt. I had dirt all through my hair, and I never felt worse in my life.

I walked over to a small pond, and dipped my hands in it. I splashed the water all over my face and body. My clothes were still pretty dirty, but I felt a bit better.

I looked toward the direction I came from, and seen a shadow. My first thought was that it was Xavier, but after a minute or so, I got a feeling that I should start running.

I took in the fastest sprint I had yet done straight forward. I wasn't sure if it was the same direction I had been running. All that I knew was that I was getting away from the shadow. I jumped over a rock, making sure I cleared it completly. I hesitated about looking back, but when I did, I seen that the shadow must have been 50 feet tall. White fangs gleamed from where it's mouth. The more I looked back, the more I figured out it looked like a cross between a bear and Godzilla. It's breathing was heavy, and I could feel it against my back.

The faster I ran, the faster it ran. Finally, I came to a cliff. I nearly fell off of it. I looked down. It was probably close to a 200-feet fall into a lake. It was either jumping into a lake, and hoping that I live, or being attacked by BearZilla. It cornered me, and emitted a loud, screech-like noise. I clasped my ears. I took one last breath, and jumped.

As I fell, wind rushed into my ears, and I struggled to make sure I fell in feet-first. I seen my life flash before my eyes, and prayed I wouldn't die. I seemed to fall forever. My arms were limp against my sides, and I felt like I was standing in the air. Soon, I felt water all around me, but I kept falling. I shut my eyes, and hoped that when I hit the bottom, I wouldn't smash. I waited and waited, but I didn't hit bottom. Either this was an ocean, and not a lake, or I died.

Cautiously, I opened my eyes. There was not water, but instead an immense stone wall directly in front of me. I looked around.

"Great, I'm dead," I said. I tried to walk forward, but I was pulled back. I looked at my arm. A metal chain was fastened to it. The same for my other arm. I looked down at my legs. Same deal there too.

"Great, I'm dead and chained. What next?" I asked aloud.

"Dead," a voice said from across the room. I studied closely, and sure enough, there was somebody over there. The voice was vaugely familar.

"Yeah, I'm dead. I jumped off a 200-foot cliff and landed in a lake," I said.

"You're not," the voice said.

I searched my head, trying to match the face and name with the voice.

"Who are you?" I asked, as I gave up trying to figure it out on my own.

"How can you not remember me?" the voice said. It was obviously somebody I knew well.

I looked closer, straining my eyes to see through the darkness. Suddenly, I remembered.

"INUYASHA!" I screamed. I was so happy.

"Bingo," he said. "What's this about jumping off a cliff and where's Xavier?"

"Shoot! I told him 10 minutes!" I said, as I remembered about Xavier.

"Girl, it's been 10 hours since they through you in here."

"10 hours? I thought I was dead! I jumped off that cliff to escape from BearZilla... Oh my gosh! What if that bear thing got Xavier?" I yelled in panic.

"Alright, listen, we'll figure this out. Calm down first," InuYasha said.

I took several deep breaths. I felt calmer now.

"Now, tell me what happened."

"Alright, well I had a feeling that we were close to Jade's castle, so I lied and told Xavier I was going to get something to eat, and that I'd be back in 10 minutes. I wanted to see myself if I had really found the castle, because I always thought things and it was wrong. But then I stopped and waited for Xavier to catch up, and that was when I started being chased by this huge, 50-foot bear. It cornered me against this huge cliff above a lake, and I jumped. And then I feel for a really long time, and I woke up here."

"Okay... that's um, pretty strange. But first, we gotta get out of these chains."

"Right!" I got my head as close as I could to the chain, and put my teeth on it. Inuyasha looked over with a strange look on his face.

"What are you doing?"

"Chweing," I said as I started to bite on the chain.

"They're solid steel! You're crazy. I think that fall did something to you."

"Whatwever," I said as I felt the chain getting skinner. I spit some metal out. It didn't taste that well, and it was hard.

I yanked my arm, and the chain snapped.

"Are you kidding me? I tried that and I didn't even get the slightest bit off!"

I used my free arm to pull the chain towards my mouth, then clasped it between my teeth and did the same thing. Both of my arms were now free.

"Hah!" I said. Suddenly, I feel forward and hit the side of my face on the ground. My feet were still chained. I had forgotten about them.

InuYasha bursted out with laughter. "Nice one!"

I shot a glaring look at him. "At least I got through two chains!" I snapped back.

I let my head hang back down, using my left hand to keep myself from hitting the ground, and my right hand to untie my shoe. Once my shoe was off, I slipped my foot out of the chain.

"It pays to have small feet," I said as I slid my other foot out of the chain and stood upright. Evidentally, I had been in the chains longer than I thought, for there were red marks around my wrist where they had been.

"How about getting me down now?" InuYasha asked. I quietly tip-toed over to his side of the room and slapped my hand over his mouth.

"Shhhh," I said. I took my hand off and started biting the chain on his arms. They weren't steel, but silver.

"Can't get 'em! They're silver, not steel," I said.

"Who in their right mind makes silver chains?" InuYasha asked.

"Nobody..." I said.

I reached in my pocket, and pulled out a hunting knife.

"What the heck? How did that get in there?" I asked myself.

"Who cares? Just get me out of these chains!" InuYasha said, impatiently.

"Fine, but remember, keep it down," I said, reminding him.

I reached over to his arm, and wedged the knife between the wall and the chain, and pulled the knife forward, snapping the chain. I did same for the remaining 3 chains, and he was free in no time.

"How are we going to get out?" I asked, as I looked out a small crack in between one of the bricks. There weren't any guards, but our room was in the middle of a chamber with fire pits, spikes, piranah-filled water pits, and motion sensing lazer beams scattered around. There was no escape.

"We just got to put our heads together and think," InuYasha said.

"Alright," I said. I sat down against a wall. My eyes were heavy, and before I knew it, everything went black.
