I re-opened my eyes, and stared around at the jail cell I was in. I wasn't at home. I wasn't at school, or at a friend's house. I sat up in a panic and bolted for the door. There was a cast iron chain preventing me from escaping. What had I done wrong to be in jail? I never did anything bad. I was a good kid. I slowly backed away from the door and sat down in a corner. I didn't know what to do. I was lost, captured like a wild animal, and alone. I hated being alone most of all.

A few minutes went by, and nothing really happened. I picked up pebbles and used them as chalk to doodle pictures of random things: a dog, a cat, a flower, a rainbow, and a person that kept coming to my mind. I didn't know who he was, but the image of him kept reappearing in my head.

After awhile, I grew bored of my drawing, and just sat. Maybe somebody would come by, I kept telling myself. It's not as bad as you think, everything is going to be okay. As hard as I tried, I just couldn't convince myself to believe any of that. I looked at the ground for awhile, hoping to doze off.

I felt a shaking and opened my eyes. I seen a man in a red robe thing with long white hair and dog ears standing in front of me. I yelled and ran to the opposite side of the room.

"Whoa, cool it! It's just me," he said.

"Who are you?" I said, holding back tears.

"What do you mean, who am I?"

"It's exactly what I mean! I want to know who you are and how you got in here!"

He let out a sigh and said, "Fine, you want to play games, fine with me. I'm InuYasha, and I've been thrown in here with you for awhile now."

I stood, dumbfounded. He hadn't been in here with me. I was alone when I woke up.

"Liar! There was nobody in here with me a little bit ago!" I snapped.

"I was, just asleep in the other corner! How well did you look, Teal?"

"Fine, I'll go with that. But who is Teal?" I asked.

"C'mon, don't be playing stupid with me!"

"I'm not. I'm serious. I have no clue who 'Teal' is."

InuYasha slowly walked over to me. I backed up a few steps, and felt the cold wall against my back.

"Don't be afraid. I promise, I won't hurt you."

I said nothing, but stared at him directly in the eyes.

With every step he made, my heart raced faster in fear. My palms were sweaty, and I was scared of what he might do.

As soon as he got close to me, he knelt down and looked my right in the eyes.

"You're telling me you have no idea who you are, who I am, or where you're at?" he asked slowly.

I shook my head.

He stood back up and paced around.

"Must be amneisa from when she fell," I heard him mutter.

Amneisa! That was the disease where you forget stuff that happens. From what he said, I must have fallen somewhere, then woke up with it.

Suddenly, there were footsteps in the hallway, along with clanking of metal.

InuYasha dashed over to me, and grabbed my hand.

"Hurry! Hide!" he wispered.

I didn't move. I had to decide rather to trust him or to find out what that clanking was. I let him pull me along into a small indent in the wall, just big enough for the both of us.

I looked and seen it was Jade. Surely he would know where I was at! I started to say something, but my mouth was covered by InuYasha. I looked at him, and he was giving me the shush signal. I did as he said and kept quiet. I don't know why we were hiding from Jade at that moment, but I had learned to respect people older than me, most of the time. My eyes watched Jade's ever movement, and never left his sight. He peered in the cell, and stood quietly. He muttered something, of which I did not hear, and then backed away. A few minutes later, a tech crew came in, and looked like to be installing security cameras on the hallway. I struggled to look at the floor, because they were being "Oh-so-careful" of where they stepped. I didn't see much other than a orangish-reddish glow given off by lava. I suddenly became scared of Jade and the cameras. Maybe it wasn't Jade, but an evil clone of some sort, like in the movies. I told myself that, and believed it. I wasn't sure whether it was true or not, but it made me feel better.

About an hour went by, and InuYasha and I were still in the indent. He had told me not to move and to not talk any louder than a wisper because the cameras were there to get us on film, so he'd have proof we were here. I hugged my knees and wiped some dirt off my face. The indent was significantly bigger, as InuYasha had been slowly digging out the back wall for an escape tunnel with his claws. I looked at myself, and seen how dirty I was. I couldn't even recognize the clothes I had on. I pulled a piece of my hair away from my face, and just sat there.

"So, why was Jade acting strange? Is he having a bad hangover or something?" I asked, trying to piece together clues.

InuYasha stopped digging for a moment.

"I'm not sure, but I don't think it's a hangover."

"Oh alright. And are we the only ones I know of that are here?" I asked.

"Well, Xavier was with us, but you said you had left him for something."

"I did? Why? Did I tell you?"

"No, so I really couldn't tell you."

I sighed. Silently, I wished I had my memory back.I knew some things, but the recent events, I couldn't recall. Hopefully it wouldn't last long. And where was Xavier?
