A/N: A short one shot. It popped into my head at about 2:30 in the morning, so I thought I'd bang it out before it ran away. Reviews are nice. I know it's not too great, but fluffy.
Hermione laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. It was just the third week of summer, and she was already antsy in her own house. When she had started spending summers at the Burrow, or at Grimmuald place, it had been harder and harder for her to spend time at home. She couldn't stop thinking of her friends, mostly a certain red headed twin. Her crush on him had become more than she had ever thought it would. She decided she'd have to send an owl to check on everyone the next day. She was starting to drift off to sleep when she heard a tapping noise at her window. Rolling over, she stood up and stretched. She peaked out of her blinds and looked down to the front lawn. There was someone standing there, tossing pebbles at her window. She opened the window and leaned out.
"Fred? What are you doing?" She called out in a loud whisper.
"'Mione!" He whispered back. "Can I come up?"
"How? I can't let you in the house!"
"Hold on." He glanced over at the large tree next to her window. He climbed up the trunk, and balanced himself on the branch closest to Hermione's window. She stepped back from the window to let him climb in. She surveyed him as he stood in front of her, brushing the dirt off his sweatshirt. He had gotten taller, his hair longer so it shagged in his eyes more. But there was the same Weasley smile.
"So...what brings you to my front lawn at 2:30 in the morning?" She smiled at him.
"Well, see...It's a long story. Can we sit?" He motioned to her bed. She nodded, sitting crossed legged. "Okay, well George and I were talking, and we decided we wanted to do something productive with our summer. Besides working at the shop of course. So, we've decided to conquer our fears."
"The Weasley twins are afraid of something?"
"Hard to believe isn't it? But yes. George is afraid of heights, so he's off getting ready to go skydiving. And I'm here."
"Why? Afraid of climbing trees?" Hermione was confused.
"No, afraid to do this." Fred took a deep breath and leaned over, placing his lips firmly on Hermione's. Hermione raised her eyebrows in surprise, and preceded to return the kiss. Fred pulled away first and looked at her. Hermione blinked at him.
"'Mione, I've had a crush on you for ages, and I've always been afraid to do something about it because you're Ron's friend. I didn't think you would ever feel the same about me. So I decided that I just had to let you know how I feel, and pray that you feel the same way. If you don't that's okay, But I thought I'd rather risk losing you as a friend, then never knowing if I could have you as something more. If you never want to speak to me again, then that's okay too."
Hermione shook her head. "Fred, I've always had a thing for you. But I was too afraid to say something also. I guess I should be glad you decided to conquer your fears then eh?"
"Oy, 'Mione!" Fred grinned and tackled her, and she pulled him in for a kiss. After an hour or two, Fred stood up. "Maybe I should go. Mum'll be wondering where I've run off to."
"Well, my parents are away, so you're welcome to stay if you'd like..." Hermione grinned mischievously.
Fred grinned right back and jumped back on the bed. "I could get used to this..."
