One Shot
Sam Carter walked down the hall, storming into her lab. She glanced around the empty lab, looking for something to get her mind off of the man that she had given up almost 3 months of her life for; breaking the rules of physics to do it, as well.
As she sat at her desk, typing up a book she was writing, about wormhole physics, a lab technician came in, handing her a report, a box, and left. Sam went over and looked at the box. It had markings on it, of some language long forgotten, and recently re-discovered. Looking at the lab report, the box was hollow, but filled with a gas.
Sam began running tests on the gas inside. First, she found out that it's a compound. After taking several more readings, she concluded that it was carbon oxide. She wrote it down on the incomplete report, summarizing it to CO.
Her thoughts turned stormy again, and she hurried on to the next fill in the blank. Potential hazards. With a frown, Sam wrote them down.
Clear, and fatal in large amounts.
Yeah, that about summed it up for her.
With a sigh, Sam looked up at her picture of SG-1 at a barbeque. They all had looked so happy, and careless. Would they ever get that back?
Short, but it wouldn'tleave my mind.
