Chapter I

It was a quiet day in the Professor's house as he and his housekeeper, Mrs. Macready sat together in the living room while the clock chimed, echoing off in the silence. The professor held a letter, send to them by his old friend, Dumbledore who he had seen for almost seven years to this day as he reread the note sent to him by owl.

My dear old friend…

It's been a good while hasn't it, I'm sure you're still up to your studies and such. Remember the time we tried to do a wizard duel when you were not so good at…

And the letter went on about good times until he reach to the near end.

I know this may seem unexpected and unusual for me to make this sort of request on you but as we know, it's time for my pupil to come to Hogwarts. Don't worry about a thing. She shall be sorted into a fine house and taken care of and I swear by Merlin the staff and I will keep a close eye on her to make sure no such harm comes to her.

The supplies and wardrobe is listed below and I shall request to take her Diagon Alley to buy her purchases. The train is on Sept. 1 at platform ¾.

Thank you much my friend,

Albus Dumbledore

"Professor, you're not thinking of doing this thing for her, are you?" Mrs. Macready's worried voice broke the trance the professor was in and looked to her. He saw that her hands were trembling, the teacup was sloshing tea on the carpet but he didn't care. "Albus is a very trust worthy person Emily, he wouldn't let any harm come to her when she at the school."

"Are you mad? She can't go! That's not a very wise idea to be sending her over there when the likely danger could come over there as well!"

"Then do you have another idea then on how it should be?" He said rising from his seat and standing by the desk while waiting for her reply. "If I recall correctly, what happened before could happen again, even with us to help her but if Albus and the other teachers were there to watch her, she'll be safer in their proper care than ours."

"B-but you can't! Don't you remember your promise to her parents? To them you swore you wouldn't let anything happen with her? Did you forget—"

"Of course I haven't forgotten Emily, I know I made that promise to them and I almost broken it. Don't you think I care more her safety? There's no other way. Albus had come here so many times, teaching her the arts of magic, giving her to grow her skills and we did nothing but locked her away from the world as we speak as we made it her so called 'home'. She needs to be free, to explore. She's a bird in a nest and it's time we let her go. Emily, I think the right thing to do is to let her try this. For her sake and the world she once left behind."

"You're right, you're absolutely right. I'll go inform her in the morning." She set her cup down then stood up, getting ready to leave. "But I hope for her sake and for everyone's, this will turn out well in the end."

He watched her leave and whispered just as she shut the door.

"In the end…I hope so as well."
