This is what happens to River after the Doctor and the Ponds leave her in the hospital after "Let's Kill Hitler". Takes place before "The Wedding of River Song" for both. A post Wedding/First Night story is the next one I plan on writing. I like to fill in the gaps between episodes. This is my head canon.

River was always one step ahead of the Doctor, ready to save his life when he didn't realize he needed saving. But there they were, the moment where he didn't know who she was. And she had predicted right. It was killing her.

Martha finds the Doctor in an unexpected room, which was from Sarah Jane. Curious, she can't help quizzing the Doctor about the woman, and the Doctor is happy to oblige. Just a bit of drabble, nothing special happens.
