Lily and James are in the prefects compartment after McGonagall has finished briefing them. I don't own anyone, however I want to own James, don't bleeping sue me.
James stood up. "So Evans, how was your holiday?"
Lily was surprised by his coolness. "fine. Yours?" she replied.
"Oh, ok." He stood up and stretched. Lily was surprised by the fact that his head was almost touching the ceiling and he had to bend backwards. (A/N: Got that from Turning Saints into Sea. Luverly story folks! Thx to the owner!) She was standing in his shadow and she noticed intimidated, that she only reached his nose. And she caught a glimpse of his muscles. Ohhh, what she would do to be wrapped in—wadda hell! Why'm I thinking this? Ah, never mind. She just noticed that she was staring at his arms, which were thankfully in front of the window. James had noticed and turned around. "Beautiful view isn't it?"
She nodded and thanked her lucky stars that she had been able to save herself the embarrassment. James was not even smiling his arrogant cocky grin. He seemed to be thinking about something. Hmm, dangerous… she thought. Then he voiced something that she would never have heard from him. "Lily, I was thinking, well, since we cannot agree to well, date, we should just be friends, especially since we will be sharing a dorm this year. I know that we're different, but maybe we can try get along. Is that ok with you?" he ended politely.
Lily beamed. "Wonderful idea James. I would like that too, especially if you don't turn my hair green this year."
James chuckled, a rich sound, beautiful. WTF. Man, ok, WOMAN GET A BLEEPING GRIP ON YOURSELF! She screamed mentally. Then he stopped. "Did you just call me James?" he asked.
"Well friends are supposed to be on first name basis, aren't they?" she asked softly.
"Well, yeah." James nodded, trying not to blush. They sat there in peace for a few minutes. Until they heard sniggering outside the door. James got up angrily. He mouthed to her, Sirius. She turned red, either with anger or embarrassment, James didn't know. She gently touched his arm and motioned for him to sit down, took a book out of her bag and crept to the door. Slowly, she opened it and whacked the person outside with the thick Hogwarts A History. After a muffled groan, James heard a yell and Lily came back in, brushing her hands off, the book nowhere in sight… After a few more minutes in peace, both of them heard, a very amused Remus yelling, "Awesome! How'd you get it in you mouth? Who did it? I'm gonna give them 100 gallons!"
James grinned. "Congrats."
"Thank you." She smiled. After they had completed their designated time, they stood up at the same time to go out. James was nearer to the door and he held out his hand for her to go out. She smiled and walked towards the door. All of a sudden, she fell and then felt a pair of arms around her waist. She had tripped over his feet and he had caught her. He pulled her up and she was pressed against his chest. She could feel his heart thudding. Her palms were on his broad shoulders, they were breathing each others air. In the cold wintry temperature, they saw mist forming between them. Leaning forward, he placed his lips on hers, pouring passion into her. To his extreme surprise, she was kissing back too. They sat down Lily in James' lap, having no desire to go anywhere.
James whispered in Lily's ear, breath tickling, "Thanks for keeping me warm."
"no problem." She replied before kissing him again.
How was that? Cool? It is a one-shot, for those of you who are wondering. I hope it was sweet. I was gonna add lots more accidents, but decided I'd be killing it. So, REVIEW!
