It was like being blind and trapped inside a small room. Or maybe it was a large room, but it didn't matter much, since he could never get out. He was running blindly, scratching and rubbing at his face and arms, trying to get whatever it was that was biting and hurting him off. Seemingly thousands of horrid insect-like demons covered over every inch of his body, crawling into his mouth as he screamed. Then there was the noise, every awful sound ever made assaulted his ears, if his mind wasn't numb from fear he would have thought it a miracle that he could even hear his own screams.

The fear…there was no way to describe it. It was the kind of fear that drove you mad, turned you into a mindless screaming animal that fought endless in hopes of being free. That's what he felt like, an animal frightened beyond all reason with no way out. Run as fast and long as he could, there was no way out of this hell. He couldn't get away; no matter what he did…there was no way out…

"Yami please, wake up!"

He's ruby eyes snapped open and he let out a terrified screamed as he pushed away from whatever was holding him. The fear was too great to allow him any room to thing clearly; all he knew was that he had to get away. He continued to move until he felt the wall against his back and pulled his arms around himself, pleading to any Gods that would hear him for the pain to be over with soon.

"Yami…" This sound was soft, not loud and painful like from before. "It's okay now Yami. You're safe, the nightmare is over."

Slowly he looked up and found concerned amethyst eyes looking at him. The fear subsided as he realized that he wasn't trapped inside that hell, but was in Yugi's room safe with his lover. Yugi moved towards Yami carefully, knowing all to well to be gently with Yami when he had these kinds of dreams. Lovingly, Yugi pulled Yami into his arms, rubbing Yami's back softly and kissing him on the head.

"A-aibou, I'm s-sorry…" Yami sobbed into Yugi's neck as he held onto his light tightly. "I'm s-sorry I w-woke you…"

Yugi began to rock Yami gently, trying to calm his love. "Shh, it's okay. You don't have to be sorry Yami. Everyone has nightmares, everyone gets scared sometimes. But it's alright now and I swear that won't ever happen to you again." Yugi pulled away a bit to look at Yami's face. "I swear I won't ever let the Puzzle take you away from me."

Yami nodded slowly before resting his head on Yugi's shoulder. He knew that Yugi would keep his word and slowly he felt himself falling to sleep again, knowing that Yugi was there should he have another nightmare. And with that fact in mind he knew that there was nothing he had to fear.
