Practice by DarkNightDreamer
Disclaimer: I do not own Cardcaptor Sakura. And no, I am not CLAMP in disguise or anything of the sort. Yuck.
A/N: Hi peoples! D I'm such a slacker, I know, by not updating Fire and Ice, but this, I HAD to post, because…well…this was originally for my short story project in language arts, but it was too anime-ish, I decided, so…yeah. Please enjoy! Also, guess who the person is—whoever gets the answer can make a request! I'm really bad angst though…-nudge nudge- Anyhow, let the story begin!
"Dieeeeeeeee!"
A battle cry rose and echoed, bouncing off the cement walls of the spacious room.
Thrusting her thin, metal sword at an invisible opponent, the slender, masked girl slipped into a familiar stance, dressed in traditional obi and yukata. Behind her wooden mask, she could hide from the weight of the world, so she practiced everyday. It was her favorite pastime, after all.
Slipping through the movements as if they were water, she struck out at imaginary enemies, sending each one flying back, and causing them to hit their heads on the hard walls.
She practiced these movements like they were her own, invented by her own hand. Her furrowed brow, determined eyes, serious face, and tensed up body showed that she was in deep concentration, and no one, not even an earthquake or a random hurricane, was gonna shake her out of it.
And if someone ever did try to…let's just say they would see stars, and their last prayers would be said. God bless their soul.
"Hah! Stay away!" Bringing down her upraised katana on an inexistent person, the girl's high ponytail swished, and she swiveled around, fighting off yet another rival.
Her warm, deep amber eyes gleamed in the fiery light of the setting sun off in the distance, signaling the arrival of dusk; the end of yet another day.
And another practice, of course.
Smiling softly, the girl tugged the mask off of its tight grip on her face, and her once upheld hair floated down, framing the sides of her face.
Stretching nimbly like a cat, the girl sighed, and then grinned energetically.
"Yosh! I've killed all the inner demons now!" Her fist clenched, and she shot a punch into the air.
Gathering everything together, she shoved her belongings into her lavender duffel bag, and heaved it onto her shoulder with a slight 'huff'. Casting one last look around the worn, dusty practice room, she put on her shoes, walked out, and shut the door behind her.
She'd be back here again tomorrow.
A/N: So how did you guys like it? Hopefully, you'll review, and then you'll guess who the character is! D
Remember, review!
