Late. The damn things were always late. Roy glanced at his watch for what was, most likely, the twelfth time in half that many minutes. The second hand was trying desperately to inch along and Roy decided that trains were always late in order to spite those who were waiting for them to arrive. Hell, stomping all the way back to Central would have gotten the man back faster, even with short legs taken into account.
…Though they never seemed too short when they were wrapped around his waist…
Roy decided it was time to check his watch again. Just in case time was passing faster. He had been waiting fourteen minutes! It was ridiculous. Someone had bloody well do something about the damn inefficient infrastructure. If it couldn't be trusted to return one errant alchemist home on time, how the hell could it be relied on to send troops or officials where they were needed in any sort of timely fashion. The East could have fallen in the time Roy had spent waiting. Fourteen minutes was an unacceptable tardiness. Just something else he was going to have to add to his annoyingly long list of things to fix…
Roy's nose twitched, interrupting the sort of bureaucratic rant winding itself through his brain. He smelled something burning, and in this case that was a wonderful thing. The booming horn of the train heralded its impending arrival a moment later, inspiring a rather manic grin to spring to life on Roy's usually rather aloof face. Self image be damned, he could see the train now. It would only be a matter of minutes before…
Rank did have its privileges, and Roy decided now was an excellent time to take an advantage of a few. He brushed his way to the front of the small crowd, some waiting to board, some waiting for arrivals, to stand directly in front of where the train would come to a stop. He then slid his hands into his pockets, attempting a nonchalant attitude as a sort of after thought. Wouldn't want anyone to get their already overwhelming ego's inflated past tolerability.
…Though he had rather missed a particular cocky smile…
The train screeched to a tired halt and equally tired passengers started to clamber their way to freedom. Roy missed them all, intent on seeking out a familiar head of hair forcing its way with casual aggression through the crowd…AHA!
Gold eyes snapped up to meet his and a sort of smirk drifted across tired features. "You're as bad as a dog." Ed chuckled when he had hauled his battered suitcase to Roy's side.
"What?"
"The look on your face. Was afraid for a second you were going to come over and start humping my leg." The smirk stretched its way into an amused leer. "Miss me?"
"Up until you opened your mouth." Roy snapped.
Leer melted to full smile and Ed threw an arm around Roy for a regrettably brief embrace. "Good to be home. Damn that train took forever."
"Tell me about it." Roy muttered.
"My back is killing me…you think I could talk you into…"
Maybe long train rides were worth something. After all, everyone knew backrubs were one of the best forms of foreplay ever. Right after tickling. Any excuse to get ones hands all over the other. And it looked like that was exactly where Roy's evening was heading…
