Any characters from MegaMan Battle Network do not belong to me. Oh, how I wish they did. But if wishes were fishes then there'd be no room for water. Starfire. EXE DOES belong to me. Please ask for permission before you use her.

ProtoMan. EXE laid face first on his bed, silently fuming. Of course, this was fairly normal; he enjoyed a good sulk every now and then. But this was different. This time, the sulk had a reason. That reason was Valentine's Day.

Everyone he knew had a date that day. MegaMan was taking Roll to a café she liked. GutsMan was taking a piece of toast which he called his girlfriend out for a romantic walk. Lan and Mayl were going to an amusement park that had opened last week. Dex had been somehow roped into taking Yai to a movie, and was still trying to figure out how it happened. Chaud was going out with Sam, leaving him all alone.

The only other person he knew who was still a bachelor on this day was Bass, but he went out 'hunting' as he so called it, but everyone knew he was going out to find a girl.

Rolling onto his back and putting his hands behind his head, ProtoMan frowned. How pathetic was he? Sure, he could defeat enemies with the greatest of ease, but when it came to girls he was hopelessly lost.

The thing that bothered him the most was the fact that he wasn't spending this day with Chaud. Every time this holiday had come around, the two had gone out Net battling or something fun like that. But this year he was all alone, and there was nothing he could do about it.

It wasn't like Bass hadn't invited him to check out the dating scene with him, but ProtoMan was an old fashioned type of guy. He didn't search the local bars and clubs for a potential soul mate. Abruptly, the red Navi was showered with rose petals the same hue as his armor.

"Happy Valentine's Day ProtoMan!"

Sitting up, ProtoMan was shocked to see Starfire standing by his bed, a basket of rose petals in one hand, a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolate in the other.

"W-What're you doing?" He asked, shushing rose petals out of his hair.

Giggling, Starfire smiled. "I'm here to see you, silly! Here!" She thrust the chocolate and bouquet at him. "These are for you."

Staring, ProtoMan could barely believe his eyes. "Y-You didn't have to…"

"Of course I do! It's Valentine's day!"

Turning pink, ProtoMan couldn't meet Starfire's gaze. "I don't have anything for you…"

"Oh, that's okay!"

He looked up to see that Star was still smiling. "You can always get me a return gift for White Day!"

Smiling, ProtoMan let Starfire climb onto the bed with him. "When's that?"

"March 14th!"

Nodding, the red Navi opened the chocolate. "All right then, hold me to it."

Looking around, Star observed the lack of people. "What're you doing all alone Proto?"

Shrugging, he took a chocolate and offered the box to the blonde across from him. "Chaud went out with Sam, so I'm all alone. We normally spend it together."

Taking one, Star shrugged. "Times change. Who knows, maybe this is for the better." Taking a bite, the blue eyed Navi considered it. "If you like, I'll stay here with you until Chaud and Sam come back."

Smiling wider, ProtoMan put the box between them. "I'd like that." And for once, he felt that he understood what this day was all about.
