Sakura giggled to herself. Oh, how she loved to write fanfiction. And today, she would write a beautiful fanfic in which Naruto confessed his undying love for Sasuke. And then! Sasuke would (of course) reveal that he secretly loved Naruto back, and then they would return to Naruto's house to engage in…activities.
Sakura had always thought that it was odd for the main characters of a manga to have the same names as her and her two best friends, but she was all up for writing fanfiction about Naruto and Sasuke (the real ones), so this new 'Naruto' manga that had suddenly popped out of nowhere provided the perfect opportunity.
She remembered the first time the three of them had heard about this new popular manga…
"OI! Sasuke! Sakura-chan!"
Sakura and Sasuke turned around.
"Look, look! It's a manga about ME! See? SEE? Isn't that cool! I have a manga named after me! And look! You're both in here too!"
Flipping through the pages of the manga, Naruto continued to blabber excitedly. Sasuke looked rather bored (as always), and Sakura acted polite (though she really found it extremely fascinating).
Ahhh…the good, old days.
Sasuke and Naruto barely even talked to her any more. What with her writing "strange things," as they had put it, how could they be friends any longer? But they just didn't understand. Didn't understand at all. Didn't understand how much this meant to her, how it was her life now. Her life.
But it was bad to dwell on the past. Sakura continued to type, a world of possibilities presenting themselves to her through this screen, this keyboard, this, this…holy instrument of fanfiction-writing.
Sasuke was appalled.
"You wrote…this? This trash?"
Sakura's expression of happiness was quickly replaced with shock and indignation.
"Why can't you be supportive of me? If this is what I want to write, then at least be nice about it!"
Sakura frowned. Maybe today wasn't really a good day to write. She couldn't seem to get…them… out of her head. It was such a waste. Such a waste of two friends. But it really couldn't be helped. It certainly wasn't her fault that she was alone now.
No!
She mustn't think like this. Why should two former friends be able to stop her from writing fanfiction? Sakura placed her hands back on the keyboard with a firm resolve. Nobody was going to get in her way.
…Nobody.
"Sakura-chan! We just want you to stop writing these…things. Please? It's not normal…"
"Naruto's right. It can't be any good for you."
"And what would you know! NOTHING! I'll write what I want, you two. I'll write what I want and there's no way that you can stop me!"
"Then I guess this is good-bye."
"…Sorry, Sakura-chan…"
"You'll be sorry!" she shouted, "YOU'LL BE SORRY!"
Notes: Uh. Yeah. This was kinda gonna be humorous originally…but yeah. This is what came of it. It's kinda like…humor, but ends up being saddish. …I hope. xDD Anyway, I hope it wasn't too hard to get that the italics were flashbacks. And I suppose this is a warning to all you fanfiction-writers out there. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU.
